You are Important (An Original Poem)

To the person
who has never complained,
and has always been there.

You've been there,
haven't you?

You've been there
to receive those
2 am calls just because
he needed to talk.

You've been there
trying to figure out
why that one person
isn't okay,
while pretending
to be just fine.

But do you realise being
there for so many people
has made you feel
you don't need anyone.?
You are hurt.
You always were.

That's what makes you
understand the others.
But when you know
you don't have anyone,
and when you know
you're falling, you still try.

To find happiness in
everything else
except people.
In the camera that lies
inside your cupboard or
the books waiting to be
read on your table.

But then after a while
you start looking for
sadness outside, forgetting
the happiness within you.

And that's what, slowly,
starts breaking you.
But you still stand in
front of the storm.
Not scared.
Not in a mood to give up.
