The Ghost on the Golf Course - Finale

Things have gotten completely out of control. It was one thing when it was just me flirting with danger but now she has attacked my wife. I have to find a way to escape. Promise me something, my friends. If you don't hear from me again please get a copy of my ghost story to the authorities. Send this report to the press to warn others. Most of all, please find a way to inform my son and daughter and the rest of my family!

I notice I wrote the word 'flirt' up above. It's an interesting word, isn't it? Was I flirting with the ghost? She certainly seems to have set her sights on me!

"Come dance with me!" the ghost cried, the words now forming clearly in my mind. When I insisted on returning to the golf course, Cathy climbed into the car and refused to budge. Very well, we would both dance with the ghost this night!

When we arrived, there she was, highlighted beneath the full moon. She hadn't seen us yet. I need to stop for a moment and recount one of the stories I found in that book at the library...

A woman was out walking on the golf course with a group of her friends. Suddenly, a violent wind sprang up from out of nowhere and the woman became separated from the others in the blinding gale. She searched around while running for some shelter beneath the trees. She remembers feeling a cold damp hand clutch at hers, and thinking it was one of her friends, she turned only to be confronted with the ghost. She screamed out loud in panic, and then seconds later the wind abated and the ghost seemed to dissolve and just faded away...

Doris loves to reenact these moments. It's why so many of the eye-witness accounts are alike. On this night Doris again performed an act from her little play before my eyes.

A cold wind began to howl. I was tossed about like a rag doll and actually thrown to the ground. When I regained my feet, there was Cathy several yards away. I watched in horror as the ghost appeared and flew towards her, grabbing for her hand. For a brief moment, I thought she might carry her off. Then as suddenly as it began, the wind faded away along with Doris, and the golf course was once again silent.

We fled in panic back to our car and I promised Cathy I would never return to the haunted golf course. This promise has proven to be hard to keep... One thing you should know is this: Doris has only ever been seen in one section of the course. She haunts one small area of the front nine which runs alongside the sea. Every photo I have shown you came from there... the scenes at the Bell, the road, and the place where her body was discovered. She has never appeared anywhere else. Until now.

This is the most frightening part of the entire story for me. Doris has now begun to show up in other places.

I wanted this to be the final photo. I took this shot a long way from Doris' regular haunt. I was there to photograph a sunset when the sky turned that sickly blue-green tint you have seen in every photo. It used to be difficult to find Doris... remember that I'm the only person so far who has captured her photo. Now here she was again, far from her territory and following none of her regular patterns. I have vowed to avoid this entire area in the future, but I believe she is now following me all over town.

She was beautiful once, so long ago... I found a photo of her in my jacket pocket! How did she put it there? I looked at the damn thing and it changed before my eyes. What evil magic is this?

Last night I was down in China Town, miles from the golf course, and I'm sure I saw her in the crowd. I'm very scared. She still calls to me in my mind. Where are you? Come back! I'm unable to silence her voice. I'm terrified and I have no idea what to do next...
