The reasons behind my bilingual posts / Las razones detrás de mis posts bilingües
Happy Thursday for all my followers and new Steemians who have joined us today to our community.
Feliz Jueves para todos mis seguidores y para todos los nuevos Steemians que se han unido hoy a nuestra comunidad.
Many of you, dear Steemians, have congratulated me for writing my posts in two languages: my mother tongue (Spanish) and English language (most used language in our platform) and today I want to say “thank you” to all the people who have mentioned it through your comments. These words make me feel totally appreciated into the community and encourages me to keep working hard to provide you with bilingual posts.
Muchos de ustedes, queridos Steemians, me han felicitado por escribir mis posts en dos idiomas: mi lengua maternal (español) e inglés (el idioma más usado en nuestra plataforma) y hoy quiero decir “gracias” a todas las personas que lo han mencionado a través de sus comentarios. Estas palabras me hacen sentir totalmente apreciado en la comunidad y me anima a seguir trabajando duro para entregarles publicaciones bilingües.
In past days, I talked about how I became bilingual and how proud I was of it. @lymepoet mentioned the importance of speaking a second language (and I’m totally agree with that) ‘cause that ability helps opening the doors to new opportunities. @snowpea, @katrina-ariel and other fellow members from @thealliance have congratulated me for writing my posts in both Spanish and English language, even @freedomtowrite was thankful with me because I translated her awesome “Behind The Curtain”challenge in my mother tongue which helped some Spanish-speaking Steemians as @ilhuna took part of this great challenge.
En días pasados, hablé de cómo me volví bilingüe y qué tan orgulloso estaba de ello. @lymepoet mencionó la importancia de hablar un segundo idioma (y estoy totalmente de acuerdo con eso) porque esa habilidad ayuda a abrir las puertas a nuevas oportunidades. @snowpea, @katrina-ariel y otros amigos miembros de @thealliance me han felicitado por escribir mis posts tanto en español como en inglés, incluso @freedomtowrite estaba agradecida conmigo porque traduje su increíble reto “detrás de la cortina” en mi lengua materna, lo que ayudó a que algunos Steemians hispanos como @ilhuna participaran de este gran reto.
I also remember my first days at Playground when @oizaguirres reminded me that I should always have my language present using the #spanish tag, and it’s also totally true because I was born in a Spanish-speaking country and my roots don’t have to be forgotten, do they?
También me acuerdo de mis primeros días en el Patio de Recreo cuando @oizaguirres me recordó que siempre debería tener mi idioma presente usando la etiqueta #spanish, y también es totalmente cierto porque nací en un país hispano y mis raíces no tienen que ser olvidadas, ¿cierto?
Now, let me tell you, dear Steemians, why I write my posts in both languages at the same time instead of writing one post per language (as I did at the beginning of my journey):
Ahora, déjenme contarles, queridos Steemians, por qué escribo mis posts en ambos idiomas al tiempo en vez de escribir un post por idioma (como lo hice al inicio de mi travesía):
1. Reaching more Steemians / Llegar a más Steemians
Since I started in #steemit, I knew I had a great advantage by speaking two languages: being able to express my words so that Spanish-speaking and English-speaking Steemians could enjoy my writings, which has been my prime target in this awesome community. That’s why I admire @crisangel, @sol25 and @ilhuna because they do the same as me and are, for me, a model to follow.
Desde que empecé en #steemit, sabía que tenía una gran ventaja al hablar dos idiomas: ser capaz de expresar mis palabras para que los Steemians que hablan español e inglés pudiesen disfrutar de mis escritos, lo que ha sido mi objetivo principal en esta increíble comunidad. Es por eso que admiro a @crisangel, a @sol25 y a @ilhuna porque hacen lo mismo que yo y son, para mí, un modelo a seguir.
2. Optimizing earnings / Optimizar ganancias
This is something I learnt while deciding how often I would publish my posts. It’s a thousand times easier for me writing only one post per day in both Spanish and English language, making a simultaneous translation, than writing two posts telling the same as the only thing I would do is splitting earnings gained from all your upvotes. Besides, I don’t have enough time to write 2 or more posts due to the full-time job I have and you know? I feel comfortable doing it in this way ‘cause I procure to provide good quality articles instead of muddling through posts that suck.
Esto es algo que aprendí mientras decidía con qué frecuencia publicaría mis posts. Es mil veces más fácil para mi escribir un único post por día tanto en español e inglés, haciendo una traducción simultánea, que escribir dos posts diciendo lo mismo ya que lo único que haría sería dividir las ganancias obtenidas de todos sus votos. Además, no tengo el suficiente tiempo de escribir dos o más posts debido al trabajo de tiempo completo que tengo y ¿saben qué? Me siento cómo haciéndolo así porque procuro brindarles artículos de buena calidad en vez de salir del paso con publicaciones que apestan.
3. “Language Teacher” Mode: On / Modo “profesor de idiomas”: activado
I discovered this reason a few days ago. I said myself, “hey, don’t you realize that through your posts you could teach your followers to speak English or Spanish languages?” and I thought, “oooooohhh yeaaaahh, you’re right!” Sounds complicated, isn’t it? Nevertheless, taking in count the structure of my posts it could be a little easier to see the hidden purpose of my posts: to provide you with some vocabulary and expressions in both languages.
Descubrí esta razón hace unos días. Me dije a mí mismo, “hey, ¿no te das cuenta que a través de tus publicaciones podrías enseñarles a tus seguidores a hablar inglés o español?” y pensé “Ooooooohhh síiiiiii, ¡tienes razón!” Suena complicado, ¿verdad? Sin embargo, teniendo en cuenta la estructura de mis publicaciones podría ser un poco más fácil ver el propósito oculto de mis posts: brindarles vocabulario y expresiones en ambos idiomas.

This is the simplest way I found for explaining you how my posts work. Every English paragraph goes along with its respective Spanish translation procuring to provide the most accurate meaning in my mother tongue so that every reader in both languages knows what I’m talking about. This is how I apply my experience as a translator.
Esta es la forma más sencilla que encontré de explicarles cómo funcionan mis publicaciones. Cada párrafo de inglés va acompañado de su respectiva traducción en español, procurando dar el significado más preciso en mi lengua materna para que cada lector en ambos idiomas sepa de lo que estoy hablando. Así es como aplico mi experiencia como traductor.
Well fellows, this is what I wanted to tell you today. I really hope this post become the basis of a way to help Steemians to speak a second language, so if any of you wants to improve his/her skills in Spanish or English languages, I’d be very glad to teach you what I know so that we have another way to communicate each other in our community. Jajajaja @crisangel, tampoco te puedes imaginar mi voz en inglés ya que me falta bastante para dominar la parte hablada (a veces me enredo o me quedo corto de palabras). Y sí, la idea es esa, tratar de llegar a más personas y generar alianzas para seguir creciendo.

hola, que suerte tienes yo el castellano y no bien vivo con el traductor y nunca se lo que dice, igual alguna barbaridad pero cierro los ojos y tiro para adelante, la misma publicación es mejor así solo hay una.

Ser bilingüe o trilingüe es un superpoder! Es nuestra occasion para ser al lado de Superman ;-)
Quando hables una o mas idiomas te sientes afortunado por poder comunicar con personas de diferente paises. El mundo no tines limites quando es bilingüe o multilingüe.
Mas idiomas manejas, mas puertas seran abiertas.
Necesitamos compartir la ventaja del bilingüismo con la familia, enseñar a los niños una o dos otras idiomas por ayudarlos a fomentar niveles más elevados de pensamiento abstracto y forjar
nuevas amistades con otro niños.
De mas, puedes entender todas los chismes sobre nosotros. ;-)
Totally agree with you dear @lymepoet 'cause this is the most treasured gift you could ever have and, when it's well used, you can take advantage of it and teach what you know to whoever needs something from you.
