Am I Getting Old?

I’m going to be in the countryside for the rest of the week and I was looking forward to roaming in the woods with my camera for most of that time. I already started that yesterday but in the evening I suddenly noticed that something is wrong with my lower back. It’s not an excruciating pain or anything like that, but I can’t stand up straight. If I try to stand or walk, I need to be in a weird forward and little to the left angle, because something is pulling my back.

I don’t remember hurting my back while in the woods, though I was jumping off rocks and balancing on logs to get over the swampy parts. I didn’t think I took any mis-steps but apparently I did.

What is this shit!?

I’ve never really had any problems with my body, no broken bones, dislocated ankle or sprained back. I’m may look fragile and tiny, but I’m very resilient. I’m kinda like an undercooked piece of meat in a stew that no matter how long you chew, it will not break down. You’ll have to discreetly spit me on a napkin and feed to the dog under the table.

By genetic point of view, it’s more than likely that I will end up having back and hip problems at some point, so I should probably start working on getting the muscles around them stronger before it’s too late. My parents are in they fifties and they can easily beat me in every sport. They are probably disappointed that I’m letting my sporty genes go to waste and never took any sport seriously, even when I was good at them.

I don’t exercise regularly, I just go on long walks and do the odd dance sessions and swimming or what ever random activity I get into. I really wanted to go kayaking with mom on the weekend, but let’s see how my back feels in a few days. If I tried it now, I’d end up paddling in a circle because I can’t rotate to my right side, might get boring pretty fast...

We have some fun activities planned with the family for the Mother’s Day weekend, I wanna be in good fit for that. No carrying a two kilo camera in the woods today. Trying to write more and hopefully still get some images later in the day without roaming too far from the front porch.

Sort:

Now, I don't want to be the creepy old guy, but I see no one is recommending one of the best exercises there is, and it's not boring (when you do it right).

I was getting a little worried and disappointed that nobody suggested that before, glad you restored my faith to internet people!

I am not a doctor for nothing ;)

Excercise you lazy girl, gotta do some excercise every morning, the body needs it y'know, even if you are in shape without it, we still need it.

In the morning, no way in hell! And exercise is boring, I don't wanna do it.

Boring? Then you haven't been working out hard enough. When you on the brink of dying, that ain't boring. Sucks maybe if you haven't got used to it, but definitely not boring.

Well I don't wanna do anything that sucks either.

The brain has a fun trick to make you feel better after enough sucking: endorphins.

Well of course you feel good after the sucking! 😝😝

Yeah, women peak physically at 23 year old, until 28. After that it's downhill. Sorry granny :(

I still have a little time to trick someone to marry me!

Just make sure he's rich and fat.

Why does he has to be fat?

So he can't be a bad boy.

Ah, smart thinking.

I suffer from back problems as well. I used to be a huge skeptic about chiropractors, but then I finally found one that practices the type that deals with pressure points and things like that. Less cracking and more muscle manipulation. He is great and he isn't into the whole holistic I want to change your entire lifestyle and see you three times a week thing. I go until I am getting better and then he says he doesn't want to see me again unless it starts acting up. Good Stuff!

My parents go to chiropractors too, and yes, not the holistic type. They also say that it's huge help when you find the right one and then you only have to go every once in a while.

Yup, better get the wheelchair ready and figure out a way to earn a living rolling with it.

I need to go full cougar then and hire a sexy younger male to push me around shirtless. Him being shirtless, not me.

How much you'd pay?

It was 28 years ago since i was just 7yo . I'm glad to be older and i want to be more older than today in the next years. Everyday is a lesson someone must learn. A test given by the lord to show how much stronger are we, and how much are we ready to hold.

Don't be worry if you getting old, woman. You must say thanks the lord to give you more time to share with your beloved people. Getting old is a part of our lives and nobody are exclude to its life ending...

Let's not bring the lord into this, that holy ghost ain't got nothing to with me or my life.

Ok, just saying. Be confident yourself...

It’s just my first day on Steemit, but I heard about you from @jerrybanfield & found your blog interesting. 😊 I’ll be posting my “Introduceyourself post” today.

Sorry to hear about your lower back. Hope it’s ok to mention that I just prayed for you. 🙏🏼 And... to answer your question...Nope! You are definitely NOT getting old. 😊

if you want to stay hot and limber you should probably pick up yoga

Try and stretch before you leave the house and you really must get into some training even if it's just three days a week for about 40 minutes a day. Basic stuff and will make a huge difference.

A chiropractor can reset you every now and then, but a little exercise and some stretching will keep that to a minimum. Hmmm, not all exercise is boring you know hahahahaha
