Around and Around We Go
The subway lurches forward while its passengers go in circles.
It was a sunny day. Content, sitting at my table, clicking away on the keys to Steemit. Chuckling. Why, I'm so clever sometimes. Now what rhymes with blockchain... Bleh.
Eek! Look at the time I'm late for a date! Opal get your coat!
Music starts to play. Quick Jazz.
Run to the street, run in the bike lane, run over a grocery stall.
Sorry!
Run jump and slide on an icy grate.
Drum rolls
Waving those arms frantically for balance.
Cymbals crash
Hit a trash can. A flock of birds shoot into the sky. I manage to stay upright with a little spin.
Meanwhile Opal is keeping up with a feverish dog grin, tongue sideways and slobbery.
There! Down the steps and into the subway, hopping over the turnstile after checking that nobody is looking.
Opal is shivering. The subway, of course. The bag comes out and she throws herself into the bag and into a little ball. And we wait. Me, unzipping the thick jacket to cool down from the excitement, standing next to a shivering bag.
Music slows to an echoey lull, long repetitious tones
The train lurches into the station and we plop in. Opal hops out of the bag onto the chair next to me. Rests her tiny head on my lap.
I can calm down, I'll at least make it. After the destination stop, just another running spree to reach the hill in the park, where we will all watch the sunset...
The train is now above ground on a sky bridge. Internet! Pull out the phone to throw out a status update. (See if anyone is talking on discord).
And then I look left. A spritely being flits about in a whirling cyclone. It's calling to me. Telling me to capture it. What's it saying?
Take out the phone camera and...
A loud and bright flash fills the subway car. The swirling stilled. The being was nowhere to be found.
This really was a charming, creative way to do a post. I enjoyed it. I hope life is straightening out and treating you better. It sounds like you have some of your old bounce and good humor back.
It's incredible how you can describe a small moment with such detail, I felt as if I was reading a novel. The crypto empire is filled with talented people.
