BATTLEWOM Tales: The Art of Carnage
GrrrWom set out into the wilds, looking for the mysterious MoonMonkey.
This is stoopid! he growled to himself as he stomped through the wastelands.
Wastelands? Where am I?
He turned back, and he thought he saw the Wom, and a curious flying cow no, surely it's just a cloud... a cloud, with an inner golden glow... behind him, but still in the wilds.
"Go, Womling," said the Wom. "Your future lies before you. Only sadness remains here."
Not wanting to admit how scared he was to some stupid old Wom, GrrrWom nodded once, and continued into the wastelands. Soon all was desolate around him. There was no sign of the wilds behind him.
He tricked me.
GrrrWom kicked a stone, which he realised too late was still half buried in the ground. "Ouch! Stoopid old Wom. What am I doing. It's not fair. It's just not fair!" He crumpled to the ground.
"Why did you leave me, mum?"
The sky was dark when GrrrWom dried his eyes and looked up.
Except for the sky, nothing had changed. The moon had risen, and seemed to glint off water in the distance. With nothing else to do, GrrrWom set off following the reflected silver light.
Eventually the desolation ended and he came to a green expanse beside a river. He walked and walked until the sun was in the sky.
"Grrr!" Coming to a tree, GrrrWom couldn't keep it in any longer. Flailing wildly, he struck the tree.
Again.
Again.
Again.
Shredded bark hung from the trunk. Leaves lay all about him.
"Grrr!!!"
GrrrWom swung again, kicking, flailing.
"GRRR!!!"
Again and again, over and over, until he lay still, gasping.
"Control. A battlewom never looses control."
"Who said that?"
GrrrWom looked up.
There in the tree was the strangest looking monkey creature he had ever seen.
"Ma.. Matilda?"
"You seek to be a battlewom?"
"Y...y..yes!"
"Ready you are not."
"I am, I am. Please, Matilda. Teach me."
"You. You are ready not. YOU HAVE NO SKILL.
"There is no discipline in what you do. There is no power.
"A battlewom is power. Destruction and carnage is not the product of the battlewom's rage. The battlewom is art. The art of carnage is what the battlewom must master, and deliver justly."
GrrrWom didn't hesitate. Finally, he could be true to his promise. He knew his purpose.
"Teach me Matilda," he said. "Teach me the art of carnage."

Love the reappearance, I'm feeling inspired to write a Sir Pheli Prologue story as well now. BattleWom had quite the difficult past from the resolve and composure and kindness he had during #steemlords.
