There are several Islands in japan where you can find more cats then Humans. Yes you read it right more cats then humans.

1. Tashirojima

Tashirojima is small Island in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, Japan. The population of this place is around 100 Humans (1/10th compared to 1000 Humans in 1950s). It is also known as "Cat Island" as there are more cats then humans on this Island. No dogs are allowed as pet in this Island.
In past fisherman used to keep cats as pet so that cats protect their silk-worms by chasing mice. With time cat population started growing & today it outnumbers humans bu 6:1 in this island.

2. Aoshima

Aoshima is another island where you can see more cats than humans. Cats outnumber humans by a ratio of approximately 6:1. Aoshima was first island which became popular for huge number of population of cats in island. There are around 120 cats in this island with handful humans for company.
