Strange things in world Episode 1 - Red crabs mass migration
Have you ever saw thousands of crabs on Road ?
Well to watch this we need to go to Christmas Island. Christmas Island or Territory of Christmas Island, is an Australian external territory. It is located in the Indian Ocean very near to Indonesia.

During the start of Wet Season i.e. in October / November most of the Adult Red Crabs starts Migration from the forest to the coast for breeding purpose. This timing of migration is also related to phases of moon, so that eggs can be released by female crabs into sea during high tide. Sometimes there are before or after migration also from small number of crabs.

The migration can last up to 18 days when more than 50 million crabs gather move towards the coast, This movement peaks at early morning & late afternoons as this time is cooler & there is more shade for crabs. If could die due to heat if caught in open area as they loose water due to heat.

Now even bridge is been built for these crabs as they pass through busy road during migration.
