CABINET MAKER X #39 Mahogany Stairs Panelling. Part 6 Judgement Day

in #woodworking8 years ago

Hi DTube woodwork Fans,

In part six it is judgement day and I am on site for the first day of fitting.

This is a nerve racking experience no matter what the job because you only really know if your measurements and calculations are correct at this stage.

To begin with I must remove the original panelling. I do this by firstly prying off the skirting and then drilling some holes.

The holes allow me to put the jigsaw blade in to the panels and then I can cut some large sections out.

I had no idea what to expect with this part but it all came out easily.

Next up I checked all my angles and started to fit the new panelling.

To my relief it was perfect to the millimetre.

I fitted all the divisions and fixed everything in place level and square.

A very good first day and the uncertainty was removed. A solid foundation for the rest of the job.

In the next part I will be continuing to install the panelling.

I highly recommend that you make DTube videos to show us any woodworking projects you are working on.

If you have any technical questions give me a shout on the woodworking discord channel.

"I surprised myself."

Isn't it wonderful when things come together the way they're supposed to? You've really got a gift! I have missed half this series. I really need to catch up on it! Impressive!

Yes ,in the words of the A Team, "I love it when a plan comes together" .

Thanks
