CABINET MAKER X #46 Portcullis gate Part 2

in #woodworking6 years ago (edited)

Hi DTube Woodwork Fans,

Welcome back to part two.

In this video I describe the gluing up process , which went very well.

I explain how that a trial run is always a good idea before you apply any glue.

I then take the job on site for fitting.

I did encounter a slight snag as I had not foreseen the fact that the centre of balance was off centre on the track I had designed.

This meant that the gates would hang at an angle, so I had to makes some bottom rails for the gate to slide against.

Apart from that it all went to plan and I was very pleased with the results.

I would love to hear you thoughts and feedback.

Would you like more in depth tutorials or do you prefer watching projects in the form of a vlog?

Would you prefer longer videos and if so what length would you suggest?

I highly recommend that you make DTube videos to show us any woodworking projects you are working on.

If you have any technical questions give me a shout on the woodworking discord channel.

If you have any questions about woodwork, furniture or being self employed as a crafts person let me know.

I know my wood and I have spent years teaching myself furniture making , furniture history as well as living it as a self employed cabinet maker .

I am also in the process of writing a

Still I am learning every day and the journey is the point.

Just keeps getting better....... I went to meet a guy that was going to help me get my table saw out of storage finally and he shows up in a car?????? Now I'm pissed again and still without my tools. I should have never put them in storage

Can you dismantle the saw to get it in a car? I have a lot in storage at the moment. Wish I had all my toys to play with.

That may be something I look into...... A lot of work...... The motor is very heavy and big.....over a foot in diameter and 18 inches long, cast iron and lots of copper wire......but I might have to
