CABINET MAKER X #56 Hallway Cupboard Part 9 The Grand Finale

in #woodworking8 years ago (edited)

Hi DTube Woodwork Fans,

Today is where I wrap the job up, the Grand finale if you like.

I first install the plinth which was fairly straight forward but the floor was running out by about 15mm / 5/8".

I had measured up very carefully and was aware of this so it did not take much effort to get things perfect.

Next I attached the cornice and then fitted the shelves.

Most of the shelves were fixed on bearers but a couple were adjustable and mounted on brass pegs.

Then all that was left was a final check over and touch up with primer undercoat.

The commission went well over all and highlights the importance of accurate measurements and careful planning.

I highly recommend that you make DTube videos to show us any woodworking projects you are working on.

If you have any technical questions give me a shout on the woodworking discord channel.

If you have any questions about woodwork, furniture or being self employed as a crafts person let me know.

I know my wood and I have spent years teaching myself furniture making , furniture history as well as living it as a self employed cabinet maker .

I am also in the process of writing a

'How to series: Setting up a Woodworking Business'

Which you can read here;
Part 1: Workshop
Part 2: Tools and machinery
Part 3: Finding a good timber yard
Part 4: Deciding what type of woodwork you are going to do.
Part 5: Advertising and getting customers
Part 6: Dealing with Customers.
Still I am learning every day and the journey is the point.

WOW.... I commented using my esteem app and it posted as a regular post. Anyway ....... It came out awesome my friend..... you build some great projects....

Not heard of esteem. Thanks Man I was pleased with it.

Esteem is a phone app that lets you do almost everything on the phone you can do on the web site. Makes it real easy to take a picture or video and share it directly to steemit..... Some things arent available but that isnt a big deal..... you should give it a try..... you can find the link i the app center on steemit or the google play store....

Looks very nice man. Is it a common thing? Hallway cupboard? I only ask as we don't see many of them here in the US.

Thank you Man. It was a bit of a one off really as the client had built an extension and the hall way was too big, so it needed something. It was more like a wardrobe but I have made all sorts over the years.
