Problem: Trying to Vote for a Witness out of the Top 100 - What's Going On...?
I wanted to vote for a Witness out of the Top 100, @steemchiller, who develops and maintains SteemWorld but this error is killing me:
Let me explain...
First I did the obvious. Went to SteemIt.com/~witnesses to cast my vote. Upon clicking "VOTE" a popup appears asking for the Active, Owner or Master Key. So I gave my Active Key... and...
... nothing happened:
The Browser stayed like this forever.
After that, I've tried to cast my Vote through SteemConnect, using this link:
Again, a popup appears asking for the Active, Owner or Master Key. This time, the result was immediate but unexpected:
Next, I went digging a bit... and I tweaked the link a bit, adding "account=trincowski&":

... and ... the same error stopped me. Again.
I've tried with V2 of SteemConnect, but the result was the same:

Afterwards, I went to Steem API Definitions to investigate how this command was supposed to work:
I realised the API said the argument was "true" not "1"
In most programming languages, this won't matter, but what the heck!? I've tried all variations of the previous links with "&approve=true":

After talking with @tryskele, he suggested me to try the Owner and Master Keys... maybe that could be the problem. But no, I've tried all of the above with all Active, Owner and Master Keys and nothing worked.
I'm out of ideas now. Can anyone help? How to vote for a Witness out of the Top 100...?
It seems I'm not alone on this boat. My fellow countrymen in the Discord Channel have been complaining they can't vote for other Witnesses, too. Only for those already on the Top 100. (This doesn't feel very Democratic, now... does it?)
Does anyone know what the problem is... and if anything is being done about it?

It looks like the problem is that you are trying to vote on an account

It's a bit strange, the only things that I have had experienced before that we need the master key to cast a vote for witness, don't use other app except steemit.com. but sometimes it doesn't really worked out for unknown reasons😁 I set a proxy on thedarkhorse and steemchiller is one of the witness in that proxy.
Hope that someone will help explain this weird.. fighting💪

@abh12345 or @paulag have either of you seen this or know anything about it. I had added a witness 2 days before @trincowski, but I have since tried to add another since he brought this to my attention. I see that there is some 'cleanup' being done to the witnesses, or the upcoming update might have something to do with this issue?
Could it be that my timing was that bad? Had I voted 2 days earlier, would it have worked?
Ultimately that shouldn't have anything to do with it. I thought it might have been like they others mentioned a browser thing or even a connection thing. I've tried 3 different browsers since we started talking about this and have had the same issue on each one.
I did try through @esteem and was success for both. I wonder if they have a witness application in? If they don't then you can't vote for them.
I've seen this issue in relation to keys, the active key works best. No need to use master.
But @trincowski has tried the active key, so I'm not sure what else to suggest :(

Well, bug or no bug, I find this to be highly undemocratic. Witnesses below the Top 100 are being screwed as no one can vote for them. I hope it gets solved quickly.

I would try to clear my browser (clear cache).
Are you sure you have the right key? If you use the key to try to send 0.001 STEEM or SBD to someone, does it work for that?
Of course I'm using the right key. More, I've ended up trying ALL the keys. And none worked.
