Wednesday Walk - A walk on the beach

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea being to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first let me explain the challenge.

Wednesday walk challenge

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Try and get a few shots not just one

You can look for anything in generally or decide on one subject you want to get shots of.

Try to limit yourself to a set distance or time from the starting location, say 5 Blocks, 5 Minutes walk or whatever and see what you can find in that short distance

make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join it this week please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

For this week let me take you for a little walk on one of the beaches here

This is the starting point for my walk this week, Just in front of where I parked my car, the sign says No Parking any time, and is a sign on many of the streets near to the beaches, but behind me where i parked is one bit of street where parking is allowed and is only a short walk for Fort Trumbull beach where I headed to for this week Wednesday Walk post.

This was early morning before the day heated up and it was great to get the time for a walk on the beach as I hadn't visited a beach for a couple of weeks

And now I am down on the beach, it is not a very sandy beach in parts as you can see from this shot but there are many shells all along the beach I am always looking all around but also down and checking out for any interesting looking shells, I don't collect many as they would just sit on a shelf at home so I just like seeing them but leaving them for anyone who may want them to do some creative art with them.

As I said I don't do anything creative with the shells and hence leave them on the beach but I did decide to do a funky edit with this one shot just for fun

Along most of the beaches here the part of the beach down to the high tide line is the properties of the owners of the houses looking down on the beach.

The high tide line can be seen in this shot by the line of sea weed gathered up on the beach, so I made sure to keep below it for my walk on the beach.

Some of the properties on this beach are very nice houses but that will be for another post, but I share this shot to show how some of them have a nice setup with beach chairs and other things laid out on the beach ready for them when they need it

And finishing off with a few more shells I saw on the beach I thought this was a cool little collection in one spot
