World Day of Asperger's syndrome. No, world day of the inclusion of individual differences as a social value. As Aspergian! # 18

in #votovzla6 years ago (edited)

Very good morning dear friends readers.

Today the Asperger Syndrome is celebrated all over the world. That is what all the calendars indicate.

I would really say that today the difference is celebrated as the legitimate identity of all the people who add value to this multi-cultural and multi-ethnic society.

I would say that in individual differences, beyond those marked by opportunities for stimulation in development, there is the sponsorship of social evolution as a peaceful challenge to coexistence in peace and harmony.

Who was Hans Asperger?

Austrian doctor, born in 1906. He specialized in pediatrics. His doctoral thesis, on the syndrome that later bears his name, was published in German in 1944. He introduced the concept of Autistic Psychopathy, Asperger Syndrome, in the current terminology. Curative Pedagogy has been one of his contributions and was the fundamental pillar of his practice. Conceptually, these are therapeutic strategies, integrated with special education techniques in medical practice.

Although it has been tried to link to nefarious events with the program of Nazi child euthanasia in Vienna, there is no doubt that this Austrian doctor we owe the beginning of important studies on the characterization of Asperger's syndrome.

This pattern included "absence of empathy, reduced ability for social relationships, solitary conversations, a deep attachment to a special interest and clumsy movements". Asperger called his patients little teachers because of his extensive knowledge of a subject of particular interest. He published the first definition of Asperger's Syndrome in 1944, under the name of "autistic psychopathy".
Unfortunately, Asperger died before the definition of this pattern was recognized. Because his work was written mostly in German and with the outbreak of World War II, his works fell into oblivion

Although his research was trapped for thirty years, partly by the trenches of the Second World War, his ideology remained guarded until Lorna Wing used the term Syndrome Asperger in a paper published in 1981.

It is when, from that date on, the importance of his work is revealed, mainly due to his contributions to both medicine and education.

The characterization of the disorder that Asperger, at that time, focused mainly on the social, communication and motor aspect, has been investigated and extended by authors such as Martos, Riviére and Garza, for example, which has allowed us to have a broader and more humanized vision of this condition of development.

Dear friends, I have regularly seen decalogues, phrases and thoughts in the style _ what would an autistic person ask you? _

From today I will say in 50 images: Writing a thought is more than making a sentence, what a woman with Asperger syndrome thinks.

Writing a thought is more than making a phrase.

As Aspergian!

"Nothing about me without me and do not bother when I tell you.

Today I consider myself fortunate because I had the opportunity to get to know myself in a profound way when trying to understand why certain reactions, behaviors, feelings and reasoning that seemed so different to those I saw in other people, recognizing this distance was the consequence that I would really feel depressed.

Today simply is not like that.

Today I would simply ask people something that is very simple: if you can not make the effort to help me or understand me, do not ask, do not interfere, just let me be.

On the contrary, if there is truly an interest to contribute to making social inclusion the right that was always of all by legitimate nature, you can also count on me.

Today I consider myself fortunate to have Syperger's Syndrome."

I'm Sandra Nahil.

A woman with Asperger's syndrome.
