It feels like you're asking this from a good place. You want to grow on dtube and help the community grow as well. In a perfect world that would mean making content specific to each platform so that you could provide custom value to both audiences. Like you said YT and DT aren't the same thing.

The problem is it's not a perfect world. It's very possible that you won't have enough time in a day to develop two different concepts for videos that are tailored for each platform and then shoot and edit said videos. Even if you are able to then it's very likely not sustainable for a long period of time unless your quality standards are lowered.

The question I think is important to answer is what is the role of a content creator? The obvious answer is to create content but I think it goes deeper. I think it's to provide as much value as possible. Not the most value to a certain platform. So if a video serves both audiences then post to both. If it doesn't serve one audience then you can make it exclusive.
I would also argue that means you should avoid lowering the content's quality. Quantity is important but ultimately you want to be able to do your best work every time.

The only issue with this is it's focused on helping you grow best not DT. I think the biggest problem on DTube is it needs more high quality exclusive content. Why go to a different unfamiliar platform just to go watch the same videos. But YT has a bigger user base that you could potentially pull from to grow DT so I think quitting YT is a bad idea.

After all that I have two potential solutions. First is set a time period where you focus on making exclusive content for each platform. That way you are able to reach this optimal outcome at least some of the time and then scale back to your current norm to avoid burn out.

Second is continue on your current path but come up with a series. Something both audiences would like. This would be episodic content that you could work on in your spare time after completing your usual video for the day. Create a back log of these episodes and then start releasing them exclusively to DTube. Promote the series on YouTube so that you are bringing in new people and growing the community while still growing on YouTube from your daily uploads there. I like this solution best if you're trying to satisfy both your growth and DTube's while still being realistic about the possibility of burn out. Hope this helps!

Man this is the longest comment I've ever received!

You nailed exactly how I feel, Your first solution is exactly what i think i'll do. I hope...

I guess I just have to try new things out to satisfy my consience.
You see my problem is that i think too much..
I need to think less and do more haha

Thank you for your suggestions, and most importantly thank you for listening!

Highly appreciate your opinion :)

Haha I'm glad I could help and yeah I tend to be pretty long winded.

That's good man, i usually pretty bad at writing long comments. I learned a lot from you now :)

I think you should do whatever you think is good for your own channels and development. Sorry for this imprecise statement but that is what I am thinking.

First: It is your content.

No one should be in the position to tell you what to do with it.
If you want to upload it everywhere or even multiple times: Do it!

It is 100% up to you!

my personal opinion/view on this topic:

I only upload to d.tube. (Except some promo-videos for steem on youtube :P)
The Steem blockchain is the only road for my journey and I am going pretty well with that. I can not handle more upload-windows instead of dtube haha
But my could be different from yours.. My only goal is to achieve knowledge and for this sake the feedback on d.tube and within the discord communities are absolutely enough.
I pay for the onelove-ipfs-bot (less than 10$ / month) and my videos will be visible on dtube as long as I pay for it.

I dont know if you should change something... Sorry for not answering your question precisely but there are many things in life we should decide by our own :)

Peace!

I agree 100% with tibfox here :) well said ma man!

Cheers man, i appreciate your opinion!

I just want to know what other creators think about this topic on this platform..

Thanks!

Well I would be real
Don't make exclusive video with the drive exclusive pitch, after you said u would never do that
But u should make videos for drive and YouTube with some differences.
Many people out there preach and complain about others and then at the end they tend to get dragged in into the fake trend, which after that it makes u loose interest in that person.
Remember the most important rule is...
That it's not for the MONEY, but for the progress experience and the love of video making
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

Hahaha don't worry I won't get dragged into the "fake" trend. I'll come up with something creative as always :)

Thanks man!

It's simple Youtube is an enterprise and Dtube is community.

We are creating a community with values, the beginning of YouTube was share content, but now it has changed.

Posted using Partiko Android

How YouTube now is different?
I'm just really curious to know, is it because they don't support now small creators?

Posted using Partiko Android

Small creators wil be always small for YouTube even if you create the most amazing video ever

Posted using Partiko Android

do as you feel like

Thank you for your opinion :)

Sincerely, it is a matter of what people who think about this situation? But for me I think the most important thing is that you have the right reserved to all your contents and you can decide to use it the way its so pleased you. But nevertheless, I think you are being too concerned about what people's opinion will be neglecting the factor that works for you. Also, dtube platform is a decentralized application while YouTube is totally different. You will be zapped out if you are considering of creating different contents entirely for each platform. I wish you the best in your vlog journey.

It's not really important, but im really curious to know how YouTubers that are coming to DTube, dealing with this situation.

Perhaps I'm too concerned, but it does feel weird to me sometimes..

Thanks again!

It's up to you, do what you want ,
But I'm using only dtube.

Have a good day

Posted using Partiko Android

I know it's up to me, but I love both platforms :)

Have a blast of a day!

First: we need content creators like you.
You're valuable to the community.
Your work on here is highly appreciated.
BUT it's your work you can see what's better to your career, but there's no harm to see you in both of d/youtube. Keep dtubing...youtubing too lol

Thank you man really encouraging!!

I think it's ok to make on both like you are doing now. But sometimes exclusive for dtube is great as well. Because in dtube as you see, the activity on created video is only in the first days after uploading. But in youtube is there always. Even if the video in youtube is one year old, it could became famous any day because of the algorithms they have. Sometimes putting exclusive videos for dtube in youtube is good as well because we need more quality creators here.

Great points my friend.
I think that I'll do both, but I'll focus a lot more now on Dtube Exclusive stuff here on Dtube.

I'm not really a big fan of Dtube exclusive videos, but I guess this is how Dtube works...

Or no?

I don't really know. Maybe ask moderators in the main discord server about that. I create mostly for @dtube, but I share sometimes some videos in youtube to promote steem blockchain there.
