VFX Breakdown Wishlist2.0 digital rain
Hey Guys,
here is a shot I edited for the German web series Wishlist.
The tracking and 3D Scene recreation were done in Syntheyes and exported in FBX for Houdini. The rain was done with Houdini particles and the puddles on the ground were generated based on the particle simulation with wet maps, which worked as a mask in the shader, to mix the wet and dry material. The ripples are generated with bump maps, which again are based on the particle simulation.
I rendered the Scene in Mantra with multiple passes.
At that point, I comped everything in Nuke, did a sky replacement, added lightning and a few other finishing touches.
