Steemians I need your help!

in #vacation7 years ago

My fellow Steemians. You know me as a helper for minnows. Guiding them towards becoming great. But today I need your help with an important thing. I really really need some vacation time and want to see amazing spots. I can take 3 weeks of vacation and money isn't really an issue.

So what am I looking for?

I've been in Europe and seen amazing cities like Rome, Venezia, London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Antwerpen and more. So I don't look for that anymore but I want something special. Places where you won't go so quickly and travel agency's don't send you too. I want your experiences and perhaps something in your area. I want to sightsee amazing spots and get into an other culture.

What better way to get these kind of spots than to ask you guys?! A worldwide community from all over the world that knows the most amazing spots!

So do you have the golden tip for me? :D

Hey, what about New Zealand? I first visited there back in 2004 and did some travelling around the North Island, then went back to live and study for a year.
The scenery is breathtaking and mystical, the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films were filmed there.
You can head over to Ruapehu, where they filmed the entrance to Lonely mountain from The Hobbit and some of the mount doom scenes.

I highly recommend visiting the Fiordland National Park, it is as if you are transported to another planet.

You can also pop over to lake Taupo, the size of Singapore, from there you could visit the geothermal vents of Orakei Korako or head to the Moari capital of Rotorua.

New Zealand is by far the most fascinating, beautiful, majestic and spiritual places I have ever visited and I have travelled quite extensively.

Sounds great! My girlfriend is a HUGE fan of LOTR and The Hobbit. I think this will be one of her favourites when I propose this haha. Besides that you say some great things next to it. I'm gonna check this out. Thank you so much for your recommendation!

You want to sightsee and get into another culture ? My hands down suggestion would be to go to India . It has one of the most diverse populations in the world and is the home to many monuments. Every state has something to offer in terms of cultural diversity as well as places to visit. You wouldn't be disappointed . And in fact, since you say money wouldn't be a big concern , you could very well end up visiting most of the monuments in the country within 3 weeks.

Thank you for your suggestion! India does seem tempting. Do you have any specific places you recommend to go to? The 'Really Must Sees'? :)

I'd surely recommend visiting the backwaters of Kerala(known as The God's own country). Then the country's capital - Delhi, home to a lot of historical monuments. Then to Agra, the home to the Taj Mahal- one of the wonders of the world, which is just a few hours ride from Delhi. If you travel further North , you could go to Ladakh and Leh- beautiful sceneries await. And wherever you go , make sure you try out the local dishes .I'm sure you'd be impressed by the number of different types of food you get across the country. Apart from the monuments there are a lot of temples you could visit and you'd be struck by awe on seeing how collosal a few of them are. Overall I'm sure you'd enjoy your vacation.

Really, thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Means a lot! I'm gonna check it out and put it on the list. Doing some research as well on what you said to lay out a potential travel plan!

My husband and I just came back from Europe and I loved Amsterdam! But if you really want to go somewhere out of the way, I took my husband to Boracay, Philippines, and he absolutely fell in love. Truly a Paradise on earth. In order to get there you have to take a plane, (a bus depending on which airport you fly in to. If you fly to Cataclan you don't need this step), a car to go to the jetty, a boat, then another car to your hotel. But once you are there, there's nothing else to worry about.
The sand on White beach is like stepping on powdered sugar. It's the best way I can describe it. Not only did our dollar go far, but the people and places were amazing. We went scuba diving, snorkeling, cliff diving, hoverboarding over the ocean. So if you like the island life with some adventure, relaxation, and some of the nicest people on earth I would suggest going here. Here are some pics.

Other places we visited and enjoyed were Tokyo, Japan and Phuket, Thailand. I actually spooned a tiger in Thailand which was pretty cool. Top of the list though is definitely Boracay! I hope you enjoy where ever you go!

Wow nice! Also the images along with it are great! The one in the phillipines sounds like a long travel but really worth it. I'm gonna check it out. Thank you very much for sharing your experience!

No problem! The travel isn't really that long. Just a bunch of modes of transportation. The plane ride from Manila, the capital of Philippines is only 1 hour, if that. The car ride to the jetty is about 10 minutes. The actual boat ride (which is beautiful and scenic) is about 15 minutes. Then to get to your hotel is about 10-20 minutes depending on where on the island it is. So total travel time from plane to hotel is about let's say 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending on wait times. Once you get there it's hard to say goodbye to the island. Lol. Anyway like I said before, enjoy where ever you end up going. The world is a big beautiful place!

Oh! That's actually not long. I thought it would be way more haha! I will check it out and see if this is where I can spend my vacation with my girlfriend. Thanks a lot!

Definitely South East Asia! From the temples to the street food to open-air markets, nothing will look familiar to you. Plus, it is way cheaper!

Cool! Any specific country you have in mind? :D

Good luck, travels are always cool :)
