Finally Network Collaborations - @sndbox, @critday, @dayleo
Today I would like to share the latest on collaborative efforts to bring Finally to more people. Over the past couple weeks I’ve worked on two collaborative themes. These new themes will be available to all users of Finally in future. Collaborations are a great way to get more people involved in the project.
EatThingsMakeStuff & Finally
Finally now supports a new theme called MAKE. This theme created In partnership with @dayleeo the editor for @eatthingsmkstuff. One of the ideas I have with Finally is creating themes for specific users. These themes can adapt to work with the wider community. @dayleeo planned to discontinue her website https://eatthingsmakestuff.com/. EatThingsMakeStuff would move entirely to the Steem blockchain. After reading about the move I thought Finally could be a potential alternative. We chatted and I offered to make a stripped back minimal version on-top of the Finally platform.
With MAKE I introduced the hashtag navigation. Hashtag nav allows Finally sites to separate and display many types of content. I have plans for this navigation to increase in flexibility. It will also be available in all other themes.
Critday & Finally
Critday has an engaged and active audience of architecture students on Instagram([@critday] and on http://critday.com. We discussed at length what would be an appropriate collaboration. The plan for Finally is to create a website builder platform using data stored on the STEEM blockchain.
We decided to create a custom theme designed to showcase student work. Students can get involved with the STEEM network whilst also getting a portfolio.
@critday designed wireframes which I turned into a working prototype on the Finally platform.
This is the start of the collaboration with @critday and we'll be looking at how to onboard architecture students to the STEEM blockchain.
Contributions & Suggestions
Finally is open to collaborations and ideas from the community. If you're interested in getting involved in any way please reach out. Github issues are open for some current ideas.
