What Will I Learn?

• You will learn the functionality of Befaco's Slew Limiter module

• The software application VCV Rack installed
• Access to the Internet
• An account created on www.vcvrack.com
• Fundamental plugins installed
• Befaco's plugin pack installed

Description

Befaco makes high quality hardware modules. These software modules have been made for the VCV Rack platform with the blessing of Befaco and they are very nice modules.

Learn the functionality of Befaco's Slew Limiter module

Befaco's Slew Limiter is a Portamento module. Portamento is a slide or glissando as we move from one pitch to another. Portamento can have a very organic sound and gives a human feel to melody and bass lines.

Learn how to manipulate the note up portamento and note down portamento

Unlike many portamento controls, Slew Limiter gives us an independent up and down control. We may only want portamento on ascending notes only. In that case you can decrease the amount of downward portamento. There is a great deal of room for customization.

Learn how to change the shape of the portamento

Slew Limiter gives us the ability to change the shape of the portamento. The SHAPE control gives a linear slide with a left turn and an exponential with a right turn. We can morph between the two as well.
