What Will I Learn?

• The software application VCV Rack installed
• Access to the Internet

• Fundamental plugins installed
• NYSTHI plugin pack installed

Description

This tutorial is on the Quad Simpler. The Quad Simpler has a sister module called Complex Simpler which has all the features of the Quad Simpler, but in a single sampler formate. There are many functions in this sampler and we carefully cover each in five tutorials. Be sure to refer to the tutorials for the Complex Simpler before doing this tutorial.

Learn the functionality of the EOC (End of Cycle)

EOC (End of Cycle) is a very powerful tool when using samplers. This works by sending out a trigger once a sample has played to the end of its cycle. This trigger output can then be used to trigger any number of other devices. In the tutorial I go into great detail on examples of how this can be done.

Learn how to use the Chain Mix function

Chain Mix is a volume control for the incoming signal from other devices. In the tutorial I show how this can be adjusted.

Learn how to use the Gated function

The Gated function has to do with what sort of signal is being used to start a sample playback. When Gated is not selected then an incoming signal will start the sample and it will play until the end of the cycle. When Gated is selected then the sample will only play as long as a signal is being received. If a trigger is being received then the playback will only be very short. If a gate is receive then the playback we be as long as the gate is being received.
