Sylvia won a grant

My wife, Sylvia won a grant to go to a workshop in St. Louis. It should pay for the motel and other travel expenses.I didn't feel comfortable sending her by herself, so I'm taking a few days off to take her. She works with the mentally challenged as a med tech and job coach. It should be some good training for her.

• I'm taking my catfishing gear in hopes of catching some big river catfish. The Missouri Conservation Department has purchased the land where the Missouri and Mississippi rivers meet. That should make for some fine fishing! Woohoo!
• I feel lucky we found a motel that actually allows smoking in the room. It's at the casino just a few blocks away from where her meetings are. It looks like I can go a couple of blocks to the Mississippi and try some fishing right by the casino. Will have to see what it looks like when I get there.
• Planning on going to Bass Pro to pick up some fresh line for my poles and a spooler to help me put it on. Some of my line is over 10 years old. Would hate to loose a good fish just because I had old line. Think I'll use braided line this time on everything.
• Taking my computer, so I will have some time to do some Steeming...

TTD before we go

I'm working at the water plant today, but get to travel in, do my tests and come home. Have to get everything packed and loaded up.

• It's about a 5 hour drive. We're dropping off a friend @firstjabi2 at Marshall so he can visit his kids and grandkids.
