Ulog3 – Tell me why, I don’t like Mondays…

in #ulog6 years ago (edited)

Not so much that I don’t like them, but somehow they don’t live up to their promise.

Have a listen to the Boomtown Rats while I explain…

Today’s a Monday, the first day of a brand new week, full of sparkling promise. The week I’m on top of things and cross things off my To Do list and feel like I’m making progress.

I start the day with teaching my arthritis exercise class.

Here’s a riddle for you – what’s the difference between taking a community exercise class and posting on Steemit? Nothing – they’re exactly the same. You only get rewarded for the part that’s seen, and nobody would have any idea how much goes on behind the scenes. But you do it anyway, because you love it. (Actually that could apply to my natural health business too, and really, any small business owner’s job.)

Sometimes I spend hours in the week making up new exercise routines, and putting them together in different combinations. Thankless work? Unnecessary work? Maybe. But it’s not just to make the classes more interesting for my ladies and gents, but also to make them more interesting for me. I've been taking the class for nearly 11 years, and I'm starting to get a bored with some of the songs...

For June, I put together a whole new routine based on Broadway – with songs from Carousel, Sweet Charity, My Fair Lady, Les Mis and more. Who did I do it for? Let’s be honest – for me. If they get a buzz out of it too, that’s a bonus.

So anyway…

By the time I got back from that, and had something to eat, cos there was no time beforehand, it was midday. Right! Let’s get this week underway. Today I want to:

• Do the packing slips, so @sift666 can send out today’s orders
• Get some paperwork entered into MYOB, so I can do some orders for incoming stock
• Do some computer work with Sift – some on our business, but also some updates on our crypto wallets and some Steemit stuff
• Do some work on the website I’m putting together for @andysantics48’s new business
• Do a Steemit post, answer all my comments and do a spot of reading and upvoting

That’s not an unreasonable list, right?

Bahahahaha!

It’s after 7pm. I’ve done 1, part of 2, and am working on 5. Where did the day go?

Tomorrow is another day, thankfully.

Though tomorrow we’re taking @sift666’s mum out for her birthday lunch, so I’m not holding out much hope for productivity. I’d better write “Have an enjoyable and leisurely lunch” on my To Do list, so I can cross something off it.

Thanks for reading

What a busy bee you are!!! For me everyday is like Monday. I plan too much and then I feel like I did nothing all day as I only cross one or two things. Lesson learned for me - make my to do list shorter and achievable :)

I love that you are making up new exercise routines. It's nice to bring something new to our jobs when you have the flexibility to do so :) I was working in finance for 9 years and there is not much flexibility so I'm looking forward to changing my career and plan my day how I want it to be :)

Thank you for sharing and I wish you a great evening!

Yes, for me every day is like that actually. Monday is just more so, as it's the busiest day in our business, as well as having the class. But you're right, I'm very lucky that I can make more choices about how I spend my time than many others can.

Nice post, but I'm wondering what is 'Ulog' lol

Next post, hopefully I will explain ulog! But just quickly, it's about reducing plagiarism by people just being them selves and talking about their lives.

I love the picture @kiwideb. I imagine a rant is in order for this Monday. I usually get sick of reading my own rants and erase them or twist them into something slightly comic.

My wife is getting sick of my comedy routine... but she said as long as some is laughing it is ok.

Peace

Oh, did it come across as a rant? I really didn't mean it that way :-(

Oooops... sorry about that assumption @kiwideb. It's just the nature of Mondays. Maybe I was the one having a rant. I love your arthritis class and glad you chose new songs. You are perfect for this. I'm also glad to know @sift666. He is really deep and you are mutually blessed.

I'm still working on my bucket list. Although I've already got a couple crossed out. I'm trying not to finish it too early.

It is entirely the nature of Mondays ;-)

But you do it anyway, because you love it.

strongly agreed with this line mam :) and whole day story is quite interesting and yeah monday is almost half of gone :p

Think of Monday's as money in your pocket day, :-)

Very true, it is our biggest earning day :-)

oh i like that description hehehhe yep - thankless work - but you probably don't do it for the thanks ;)

you do it for the love! hehehehe love that you're still keeping up with ulogs! hehe

Hmm, well I managed to do 3 days in a row, then Steemit was down, then I missed a day, so need to get back into the glogging! Ooops, you only say it like that not spell it like that, right?

hahahahahaha right!!!! Ulogging (pronounced glogging) is what i say hahahahahahaha

get back on that horse, lady ;)

Haha......I can very easily identify with you @kiwideb What I plan to do and what I actually get done some days are two very different things. Love your beautiful coloured stork btw and your funky image. You certainly are multi-talented.

Sadly the stork has now faded and rusted and we had to say goodbye to him at the start of the winter. But he was a gorgeous addition to our deck menagerie for a while.

This is sad to hear Deb.....but at least you got good photos of him when he was in his prime.

He was like a butterfly - a short, colourful life and then gone :-)
