I went to the park to get some #TreeTuesday shots, but an airshow broke out...
A park bench beneath a giant sequoia.
A gorgeous setting among the large trees.
This is the tree with the bald eagle nest.
It didn't take long for me to get sidetracked by the birds.
An adult bald eagle in the nest.
It was about this time when I noticed a pair of eagles flying overhead. They were very distant and I didn't manage to focus properly on all these shots, but check them out!
It was only when I got the photos home and checked closely that I saw this was an adult eagle chasing a juvenile away from the area. I believe this is dad telling junior that he doesn't live here anymore.
Junior leaves the area and has to make do with an artificial tree for a perch. The white feathers for head and tail will grow next year.
That was more birds than trees, but that's how my #TreeTuesday went. Make sure to check out the post by @old-guy-photos where he is delighted by yet another snow storm:
Thank you @pixresteemer!
Thanks, the eagles made your post even more special!
Thanks very much! I love photographing the eagles. :)
The eagle pictures are terrific. But, that first shot of the park bench under the giant sequoia is stunning! It’s like something out of a movie.
Thanks so much! The big trees in the park are amazing. This one is a little over 100 years old and just look at the size of that trunk, I didn't even fit the whole thing in - deliberately because I hoped it would add suspense or something. Tension? I'm not sure of the word I'm looking for, just want to emphasize how big that thing is! :)
There’s not tension in the image for me – it’s inviting. And, the framing of your composition definitely emphasizes, by what we cannot see, just how big the tree must be.
Thank you for explaining it better than I could! Yes, I wanted to show how big the trunk was, but not show it all... so it's like "wow, there's even more!" I think this I shows roughly 3/4 of the trunk. :)
beautiful birds photos, i really liked her @keithboone
Thank you very much!
thanks also for @melinda
thanks also for @melinda
love the eagle shots!
Thanks so much! I'm working on a post now with some great shots of heron/eagle interaction.
Those are great eagle shots. We have a pair that live on the lake. They hunt as a team sometimes. I got a video of it from 6 years ago. It is the circle of life. I wish I had a decent tele-photo.
That was amazing Paul, I've never seen anything like it!
