Is that ferns and other secondary plants growing from the more horizontal portions of the tree trunk?
Yes, those are ferns and we do have a lot of them.
I heard they propagate by themselves quite well but this is the first time I saw them on a willow tree.

Wow cool! I've never seen ferns doing that before. Here they grow in really moist soil, and in the low, shady places in a forest, so I'm surprised they can do so well there. Interesting, thanks^^

Oh wow. Very unique trees. We have a willow tree in our backyard and I'm always fascinated to look at it. These trees seem like a symbol of wisdom in some way. Great post.
Willow trees are not that popular in Singapore but this park has quite a number and the tree does make one think it's wise but a sad kind of wise. Thanks for your comment.
