🏆 TRAVELFEED WEEKLY ROUND-UP #66

in #travelfeed5 years ago

Welcome to today's Weekly Travelfeed roundup brought to you by @for91days.

Would you let your dog choose your next travel destination? I personally was thinking of throwing a dart arrow at a world map and let luck decide but this winning travel article submitted via our #travelfeed tag is talking about how a dog chose Hawaii for the next vacation. The second article is taking you on one of the best train rides from Kandy to Ella in Sri Lanka. And we're closing this round-up with Coober Pedy a tiny town in Australia's outback. It seems very underwhelming but it actually makes up with many great photo opportunities.

Please note - we are still in search for one more curator to cover a day or two a week. If you are interested, please contact us on discord (kindly find a link at the bottom of the page). Now let’s get reading!

Three BEST posts of the week

A quick recap - For the weekly round-up, we feature the best 3 posts out of the ones previously featured in the daily topic curation posts in the past week. The rewards will go to the first three places as follows: 1st place - 3 STEEM, 2nd place - 2 STEEM and 3rd place - 1 STEEM.

The 1st Place

Lord Nigel's Travels - Hawaii - Big Island
written by @lordnigel

During the making (but not on film) I challenged my dog 'Skye dog' to pick my next vacation spot, you know via closed eye paw indication on a map haha. Anyways she pawed pretty close to the Hawaiian islands…flights were cheap, so off I went - Now to share some photo's with my Steemian friends.

The 2nd Place

Travel Diaries - Train from Kandy to Ella, Sri Lanka
written by @tggr

Peradeniya Railway Station is an easy 30min TukTuk ride away from Kandy and assuming you'd be trying to catch the first train, there is not that much traffic in the early morning and getting to the station should not be much of a problem. Once we arrived at the station we realised that lots of people have had the same idea and were waiting for the first train. No one knew what to expect so they all looked relaxed and not particularly worried. Until the first train actually arrived.

The 3rd Place

Coober Pedy and Lake Hart – Gems of the Australian outback
written by @haydae

A dot appeared in the horizon and it was coming at us, slowly taking the shape of a vehicle. The car eventually drove past our van and its driver waved at us, which seemed to be a custom in the area. Meeting another human being on that road going through the desert was indeed a big event, so much so that every other driver from Darwin up to this spot in the middle of nowhere had waved at us in the same way. To be fair, there hadn’t been too many encounters either.
