📷 Sochi arboretum

Hello, my dearest friends! There are many wonderful plants in Sochi arboretum! We saw here and mallow, and a very beautiful rich shade.

Once from this plant in ancient Egypt made a delicious soup called melokia. These flowers also have anti-inflammatory properties, and its leaves can be applied to the skin with burns and abrasions.

This plant is very unpretentious, it has a lot of different names: cuddles, mallow, someone knows the mallow as stoklosa. Now there are more than 30 species of Mal, and their cultivation began in Ancient Greece. Already in the writings of Hippocrates was found a description of the medicinal properties of the flower. In addition, they are very beautiful!

In the arboretum on each square meter you can see something unusual and memorable.

There are a lot of pavilions and sculptures, there is a cottage-Museum of the founder of the Park Sergey Nikolaevich Khudekov, which he built for his wife Nadezhda.

Many people like this place too! Moorish gazebo guarded by two huge lion, there is not zabaluesh. They are always on guard.

Through this gazebo is the Central alley of the Park. But it was called Moorish in Soviet times. This was probably due to the fact that at the end of the XIX century, many of our compatriots used elements of the Moorish architectural style, which actually had nothing to do with Mauritania :-)

View and small video found on the channel "centr1056" in YouTube.

In the XIX century, such parks and arboretums were created on the model of the Franco-Italian terrace structures. They had not only spacious lawns and long shady alleys, but also parterres, and an excellent system of ponds, many beautiful plantings and architectural monuments.

The arboretum is decorated with sculptures and wonderful vases made at the iron foundry in St. Petersburg. In those years, the plant belonged to the Prussian-German entrepreneur Franz Karlovich San Galli.

His vases now growing a gorgeous bright red dipladenia.

We met and these white flowers are very similar to Weigel, however, they are a little larger here, Yes, and the leaves were not quite normal. It is possible that this and some other plant that I hope someone will tell :-)

Well, yellow day-Lily to know was much easier. Good, isn't it?

Past this tree, too, not was able pass. See how it tries to survive. Once upon a time, during a strong wind, it is strongly inclined, now forced to grow in this uncomfortable position.

Nearby discovered and this plant. It wasn't easy to recognize him either. These inflorescences are very similar to the California aralia.

The spacious meadow near the trees can live together and evergreen spruce, pine, arborvitae, fir and eucalyptus. We were pleased and squirrels, that's just the photo did not work.

But the cones found so many and all so different. Here are these squirrel fir treats.

At the end of our trip and came across to the thickets of Indian lagerstroemia, which owe this name to the Swedish merchant Magnus von Lagerstrom.

Lagerstrom himself was a friend of the famous scientist Carl Linnaeus, and traveling with him to Southeast Asia, in 1747 drew attention to this magnificent plant with small lilac petals.

We call them Indian lilac, indeed, the flowers are very similar. In India, the plant is known as the sacred Banaba or divine flower, it is considered a mystical tree.

There are many interesting places and amazing plants in the arboretum, but it is impossible to describe everything.
