#1 Travel Norway #22 - Magical streets of Røros - norwegian "Wild West"

@photovisions takes us to a 17th mining town called Roros in Norway. He's been here many times and shares with us different parts of the town from all four seasons. The town isn't very big, and its rich history is reflected in the charming buildings as you walk around. The River Hyttelva cuts through the town on one side and the mining part on the other, offering a contrast between the two sides. Remaints from the mining days can be found in various places around town, such as the smelting house, mine wastes that has created high, black coloured hills, and small houses that were used by the workers. If you're interested, you can actually rent these houses for the night, you might even catch the Aurora lights whilst you're here.

#2 Travel adventures - a sunny day in Liechtenstein

Today's second featured post is from @delishtreats who takes us for a walk in Liechtenstein. It's the sixth smallest country in the world, doesn't have it's own currency and home of one of the world's oldest noble family. Like all the walks @delishtreats takes us on, this one is just as if not as stunning as all the rest. There's a range of different types of mountains along the walk and we are treated to a geography lesson here. We end our walk at the Vaduz Castle which is still the home of the 15th Prince of the noble family today. Sadly, it's not open to public but we do get a peep from outside.

#3 Exploring a Dutch fort in colonial Galle, Sri Lanka

Did you know that Sri Lanka used to be a Dutch colony? If not, check out @steef-05's post who visited a Dutch fort at a town called Galle. The fort was built in the 17th century and is now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Galle itself is quite small but also touristy so we're advised by @steef-05 that you can easily explore by foot and there's no need to do a tuk tuk excursion. It's a short walk uphill to the fortress, and then the full circle walk around the fort is about 4km. You will walk past the lighthouse and the clock tower here. One side of the fort faces the ocean. Apparently the 17th century walls are so well preserved and strong that it helped to slow down a large part of the 2004 tsunami.
