Beach Wednesday - Currumbin Beach and Elephant Rock
After almost 3 weeks in Australia I finally arrive here. It took a while this time as we had much to do. Furthermore we struggled to find a Van, but finally found one. I will make a Post as soon as it is ready to hit the road.
We´ve been to the DOT (Department of Transport) today and registered it into my Name. Afterwards we worked a bit on the interior. And last but not least I needed my daily dose of Ocean.
I´m totally addicted to the ocean and whenever it is near I need to go for a swim or a surf at least once a day.
This is the Beach I´m going to enjoy the next 3 weeks, as well as myn other beaches I will show you the next days.
Nach fast 3 Wochen in Australien komme ich endlich hier an. Es dauerte eine Weile, da wir viel zu tun hatten. Außerdem hatten wir Schwierigkeiten, einen Van zu finden, fanden aber schließlich einen. Ich werde eine Post erstellen, sobald er campingbereit ist.
Wir waren heute im DOT (Zulassungsstelle) und haben es in meinem Namen registriert. Danach haben wir ein bisschen an der Inneneinrichtung gearbeitet. Und zu guter Letzt brauchte ich meine tägliche Dosis Ocean.
Ich bin total süchtig nach dem Meer und wenn es in der Nähe ist, muss ich mindestens einmal am Tag schwimmen oder surfen.
Dies ist der Strand, den ich die nächsten 3 Wochen genießen werde, sowie viele andere Strände, die ich euch in den nächsten Tagen zeigen werde.

Currumbin Beach will be the nearest Beach for the next 3 weeks with only 5min by car away. Also it seems to be a reasonable surfspot which is not as crowded as the beaches further north. While the water was way to cold in Sydney it has a perfect temperature of 24 degree up here at the Gold Coast.
I climbed on a few rocks, had a swim and watched the surfers. Tomorrow I´m going to buy my surfboard, so I have no longer to watch but surf myself.
Currumbin Beach ist der nächstgelegene Strand für die nächsten 3 Wochen, nur 5 Autominuten entfernt. Es scheint auch ein vernünftiger Surfspot zu sein, der nicht so voll ist wie die Strände weiter nördlich. Während das Wasser in Sydney viel zu kalt war, hat es hier an der Gold Coast eine perfekte Temperatur von 24 Grad.
Ich kletterte auf ein paar Felsen, bin eine Runde geschwommen und beobachtete die Surfer. Morgen werde ich mein Surfbrett kaufen, also muss ich nicht mehr zuschauen, sondern kann endlich selbst surfen.
After my daily Ocean dose I hoped back into our new Home on wheels and drove 200m further down the Beach to the Elephant Lookout, a Rock you can climb to get a awesome view on the Beach. And again like many times in Australia I met some wildlife on the way up.
I´m looking forward to the next 3 weeks of Housesitting!
Nach meiner täglichen Meeresdosis stieg ich zurück in unser neues Zuhause auf Rädern und fuhr 200m den Strand hinunter zum Elephant Lookout, einem Felsen, den man besteigen kann um einen fantastischen Blick auf den Strand zu bekommen. Und wie so oft in Australien traf ich auf dem Weg nach oben wild lebende Tiere.
Ich freue mich auf die nächsten 3 Wochen von Housesitting!

yeah finally, just needs some improvements. I bought a Board today as well. went to that beach to test the board. it´s awesome but the waves were not really good today. I´ll make sure to post more as soon as everything is done at the van
