#1 Wednesday Walk: Carnivorous Plants Exhibition: Plants with Bite. The Calyx at Sydney Botanical Gardens. Original Photography

First, @allyinspirit takes us on another Springtime walk around the Botanical Gardens in Sydney, Australia. This time she visits the Calyx, which is currently hosting a beautiful carnivorous plants exhibition. As she wanders around the spectacular floristry arrangements, hanging baskets, and beautifully hand-made glass art, we get a glimpse of how the author Lewis Carroll may have been inspired by such a place back in his day. From the misty Green Wall, to mini swamps, to Peatlands and Sphagnum mosses, this captivating post is a visual and literary delight.

#2 A Travel Story : Sinop Prison and Dark Tourism

Next, @mnallica takes us to Sinop Prison, Turkey. It dates back 1214 AD and was originally a fortress since the sea bounds it on three sides. In 1887 it officially became a prison and in more recent times became known as "Alcatraz of Anatolia" since nobody escaped from it. During its time as a prison, it housed several important and famous political prisoners including Sabahattin Ali. It also hosted its fair share of criminals, some of whom had sentences ranging from 115 years to 200 years. In 1999 the prison was closed and turned into a museum, which you can visit all year round.

#3 Halfway between North pole and the Equator ~ My first hiking experience, Bruce trail, Ontario

Finally, @silenteyes takes us hiking along the Bruce Trail in Ontario, Canada. This is one of Ontario's longest trails extending from Niagara to Tobermory, with many side trails. One trail even takes you to the halfway point between the equator and the North Pole. Although not a hiker, the pictures of the turquoise water above the limestone cliff lured her in. And while all the paths are marked, it's still pretty easy to get lost, which is eventually what happened. However, after teaming up with some other lost hikers, she makes her way back to the rendezvous point where a warm meal awaits.
