#1 Climbing Aconcagua, Argentina, Preparing for the Summit Attempt
Our first featured post is from @ultrabiker, he went to climb the highest mountain in the southern hemisphere, the Aconcagua in Argentina. His climb starts at a base camp called Plaza de Mulas at 4370 above sea level. He and his team have to spend some time here acclimatising first and must get the clearance from the doctor before they are allowed to proceed. Whilst waiting, they practice using their gear, sliding down the snow slopes and stopping themselves from falling further using their axes. When the conditions are right, they are finally allowed to start their acclimatisation climb up the Mount Bonete. This is when the real deal starts and they have to battling with winds as strong as 120km/per hour. He's left us in suspense now! Need to wait for his next post.

I love it how you learn something new everyday on Steemit, and today I learnt what a cenote is from @jessicaoutside. This is a natural pit formed from limstone bedrock that has collapsed exposing the underground water. No wonder this cenote that she went to in Mexico in so beautiful. Set in a green forest, the natural water is so clear and torquise, and you can swim into some of the caves which is quite dark and has bats inside. If you like diving or snorkelling then this is pefect as there are so many rock formations, different types of little fishes and turtles swimming around you. Of if you want to take a rest from swimming, you can lie around in the hammocks, or round of your day with a taco like she did.

Our last featured post is from @explorernations, she's taking us to visit the Nizwa Fort in Oman today. This is one of the more popular fort in Oman and is about three hundred years old. As you go through the fort, you can see the intellegence in building the fort, such as the many staircases which were used to slow down the enemies entering. Or the small holes above the stairs, apparently dates were cooked still they were hot sticky and gooey, and then poured down these holes as the enemies were approaching. Basically booby traps all over the place. But that aside, the fort and the surrounding view is absolutely stunning.
