Real Life Captured #35: Santa Clara Market Quito Ecuador! Part One (10 photos)
Hey there my Steemit friends! Welcome to the Santa Clara Market in Quito Ecuador! I was in a bit of hurry while in Quito taking care of some business, and only spent five days there. I didn't have much time to explore the markets like I enjoy doing. So this is only a two part series, ten photos each. Instead of my normal fifteen. But they're a good ten photos especially this first one!
They call this Chancho Hornado which translates to, you guessed it! Roast Pig! If you lean to the carnivore side of things like I do, this is a real tasty piggy treat. I know it's not very good for you, especially compared to wild caught salmon as far as animal meat. But I just love myself some Chancho! And they do it right in Ecuador.
Besides many booths selling roast pig, they have a great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. All at prices that would make you blush. After about ten days in the US and I was happy to be back where nutritious, healthy fruit and veg was affordable again.
Try getting a pound of black berries for a dollar in the states. Or a pound of strawberries. How about a huge watermelon for two dollars, three big avocados for a dollar, or a half dozen bananas for 30 cents. Now let's have our first look at the Santa Clara Market in Quito Ecuador!

Wow! See how pork is sold like other meat with no discrimination, not so some parts in my country where pork meat is forbidden. Anyways for me I love pork so much and I enjoys it particularly the roasted one. Thanks for sharing it
Wow, no pork in your country. You must be from a Muslim country right? Good to here you still know about the forbidden pleasures of piggy! -Thanks for stopping by again! -Dan
Yes, there is but only in some part of the country, in the north part of my country pork is forbidden because it s dominated by Muslims. But in the west that I am pork is a very delicious meat.
