Real Life Captured #31: Quito Ecuador Part four (17 photos)
My steemit friends. Need some passion fruit? How about a block of cheese? Or maybe a coconut? When in Quito Ecuador no need to go to a supermarket. Just go for a walk in the direction of any popular street and you can often find what you're looking for. Besides that, you'll feel good about spending your money with someone working hard who really needs the income vs a big chain store like the popular "Super Maxi".
Many of these photos were taken near Parque Ejido on Avenue 10 de Augusto. Another popular street with a lot of action is Avenue Rio Amazonas cutting right through the heart of the city. Here you can find individuals selling everything from cigarettes to donuts to even lottery tickets; often in front of the super luxurious Hilton Hotel! Quito is quite a place.
I really enjoy this city but if I had one complaint it's that it gets cold at night. Often down into the 40's Fahrenheit about 5-10 degrees Celsius. If this were the United States, a country with big money, every house would be fitted with heating. Since it's a poorer country, that is not the case. So layers of blankets and warm clothes are the norm. Just a little tip to dress warmly if you visit this lovely city high in the Andes. Now lets take a look at the Real Life Captured, Quito Ecuador!

Hii! Cool you can travel anywhere just by doing steemit! You are very blessed but you deserve it! You blog is great! I highly recommend you to go to the Phillipines, a lot of people don't know how beautiful it is in here but I enjoy traveling here already for 8 months! Advanced happy new year!

Thanks Sha. I love the Phillipines. 8 months floating around there. You must love it more than I do. I haven't been there in about 8 years or so, but it's certainly a beautiful country. Quito is such a fascinating city! When I was visiting in 2015, I only had two weeks left before my flight from Bogota to Mexico, so I only spent three days in Quito. I will definitely come back there on my next trip to South America!

Love the VW Beetle! Loved those little cars. Almost indestructible. And those beautiful fruits and veggies! The kind of market I like. Support the local economy. No supers for me! The buses don't look very crowded. Here they are stuffed all the time. lol
