Chobe River cruise, Botswana. African Adventure
How's it going Steemers??
Let me continue my African Adventure with our river cruise on the Chobe River in Botswana.
We loaded our esky and jumped aboard our boat to have a cruise around the Chobe River.
Now the Chobe River runs along Botswana's northern border then meets the Zambezi river where it falls over Victoria Falls.
The river is just beautiful and full of wildlife.
Our guide was very knowledgeable, schooling us on all the wildlife and plants as we cruised around.
There are many islands along the river with lush green grass, lots of birds and hippos everywhere!!
We cruised around checking out different islands and saw some crocodiles sunbaking.
On the foreshore of Chobe National Park wild game was everywhere grazing.
We pulled up to one island where there were hippos and a crocodile chilling.
Then off in the distance on the shore, a herd of elephants came close to the water.
It was so amazing! At one point I was looking at a crocodile on the shore while hippos were in the water and elephants were on the river banks on the other side. I was like "is this even real? " there is so much wildlife around here.
This was the perfect spot for a beer🍺🍺
As the sun started to set we headed back to the dock then back to our camp site.
If you are ever in the area make sure you rip it up the Chobe River it is an experience you will never forget.

What an adventure! I would also wonder if this was real :) You were so close to that crocodile. I've just realized that I don't even know if they're fast when they're not in the water. And it looks like he was a friend with those hippos as they were chilling close to each other. I would love to see a herd of elephants too :)
You've seen such amazing wildlife there! I'm sure this is this kind of experience that you will never forget :)
Thank you for sharing!
It sure was an adventure! The crocodiles didn't mind us being so close, this was an experience that I will never forget 😊 thanks for stopping by.

This is not the point of your post, but I love the sunglasses on your wife/gf/friend. I want them for myself! I am also wondering if there was a bathroom on that boat.
You are sure on a trip of dreams. I would have felt the same as you to be surrounded in such diverse wildlife.
Haha those sunnies are pretty cool, you will have to ask @terrybogan where she got them from.
Yes there was toilets on the boat, other wise the beer consumption would have been minimal 😊 this adventure sure has been amazing! Stay tuned for more posts from this trip and thanks for stopping by 👍

That was my thought when I saw the beer. I feel much better for getting that answer. going to check out @terrybogan now. So cool she's here too :)
Wow this area looks so green! Loving the beer picture the most while drinking together with the Hippo's! 🍻
Can imagine you would doubt about yourself when seeing those beautiful animals surrounding you without any gates like in the Zoo all at the same time!
It was so green and the best spot for a beer. Thanks for stopping by @guchtere 🍺

hi @vcclothing
the story of your trip is very beautiful!
Africa will undoubtedly be one of our goals in the future. I can not wait to see the savannah, the animals and take a safari to see them up close, as I've never been able to do! Congratulations, beautiful photos!
You should definitely do it! I saved up for a long time to make this dream a reality and I don't regret it. It was amazing to see all the animals up close in the wild. Thanks for stopping by and stay tuned for more posts from this African Adventure 😊

I was thinking the exact same thing as you were, @vcclothing. Is this even real? I know I'm not used to seeing so many different kinds of wildlife going about their business, let alone that of the African variety. Just amazing.
The closest I've come to something like this is called Wildlife Safari in Oregon. There you drive your car through, and they have all kinds of things, including hippos, rhinos and a cheetah. Don't remember there being any elephants. It's been about 25 years since we went. Might be time to go back and do it again. :)
You can definitely tell you enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing with all of us, and congratulations on the curie.
It was so awesome to see! The wildlife safari in Oregon sounds amazing definitely time to go back! The leopard was the only one of the big 5 we unfortunately didn't see in Africa so I will have to go back one day.

Amazing pitures. Everything looks so peaceful and neat. I would have asked the same question, "Is this real?"
It is good to know that amid so many reports of hunting endanger speacies, etc htere are places like this where it looks like they are making a big effort to preserve these amazing animals and their environment.
It was so peaceful out there. They are making a huge effort to wipe out poaching in Africa, I met some anti poachers how have the authoritie to shoot poachers on sight. Thanks for stopping by 😊

Good. That's the way it should be handled. Those who unscrupulously abuse nature and its treasures should be treated accordingly.
That's exactly right.
