Traveling the World #93 (Asia Series) Byodo-in & Phoenix Hall @ Uji Shi, Japan - 向世界出發 #93 (亞洲系列) 平等院 & 鳳凰堂 @ 宇治, 日本

Today I will continue to take you through to Byodo-in and see the main attraction - the Phoenix Hall. You can see part one here

今天我想繼續介紹平等院和很有名的鳳凰堂. 你可以在 這裡看上一次的介紹

Unfortunately when we bought the tickets, they told us that we were not allowed to take any photos inside so I can only describe briefly what it looked like inside.

去看鳳凰堂要再買門票但買完才知道原來不可以在裡面拍照所以我只可以用文字介紹一下

First we go through the bridge and needed to take off our shoes. Once taken off we need to quietly go inside the hall. There is a limit on how many people can go in at once so when you are inside, it doesn’t feel crowded at all. Everything is spoken in Japanese so they will provide non Japanese speakers a translated version of your language on paper before you go in. Inside there is a large sculpture of Amida and is covered in gold leaf. There are also many wooden carvings inside carved liked shells around the room.

我們先走過一條橋之後要拖鞋子。然後要安靜的走到鳳凰堂裡。因為每次的人數有限所以裡面不是很多人。工作人員會有問跟大家介紹鳳凰堂的歷史但如果你不懂日文，他們會給你們一張已經有翻譯的資料給入場的人。鳳凰堂裡有一座很大的銅像和有很多金色葉子。裡面還有很多貝殼木雕，非常漂亮

If you have been to Japan, you may have noticed that the Phoenix Hall is on the 10 yen coin.

如果你有到日本旅行你會覺得應該見過鳳凰堂，是因為鳳凰堂是在日本的10 yen 錢弊上。
