Manjuyod, Maldives of the Philippines | Internet hype or not?

Manjuyod Sandbar, Bais City, Negros Oriental- Maldives of the Philippines, just a hype or not? Tourist-trap or definitely worth it? Overrated or actually adorable? So you googled for images. Yes, pictures are awesome but then you doubt if the colors of the water and sky are oversaturated by filters. Searching for reviews, you see 5 star ratings and others disappointed. So what’s the real score?

Truth is, the only time that Manjuyod being downgraded is when it is compared to Maldives down to the last detail. It suddenly becomes a second rate to something. An imaginary standard has been set and it is the substandard. A mediocre of somekind. Its like going to Manjuyod and wanting to see Maldives.

But babe, just because it is a hype or not issue doesnt mean it is less than beautiful. So I think maybe you would want to hear Manjuyod as it is and not being compared.

There’s just something about its sea, sand and sky altogether.

You look around and you see vast of cyan waters. Look afar, you see the end where the sea is meeting the sky with mountains and cloud linings. You cant exactly distinguish where is the sea or sky there.

Nipa cottages are strikingly contrast to the soft colors of the sea and sky making it very picturesque.

If you have a thing for sandbars, you have to chase for the low tide. You can check this site.
Or you can pray that the moon stop pulling the tides just for you.

Starfish everywhere!! And it is making the sea much more like the sky.

Oysters and sea urchins will come sailing your way. Free taste 🙂 🙂 This life is too nice.

How to get there

📌 From the Dumaguete Bus terminal near Robinsons, take Ceres Bus bound to Bais for P50. From Bais proper, ride a tricycle to either Capinahan Wharf or Canibol Wharf for P50. Rent a boat for the day ranging from 2,500-3,500 depending on capacity and availability. There would be lucky cases when small boats would offer 1,500. Also, ask the tricycle driver or boatman to take you where you could buy seafood fo lunch, yummy!
