Discover the wild landscape of Penang very own National Park, at just 2300 hectares it's known to be smallest Protected Rainforest in Malaysia; it’s also one of the newest, having attained national park status in 2003
With its abundance of unique Tropical Rainforest, it comes as no surprise that Penang is the home of some of the world’s most breathtaking natural landscapes. An Expedition led by the Malaysian Nature Society recorded 417 flora and 143 fauna species, were found within this particular Nature Reserve alone
There is also Six different types of Habitat's such a Meromictic lake (A Few in the World), Wetlands, Mangroves, Mudflats, Coral reefs and Sandy beaches, all teeming with exotic animals such Monkeys, Birds, Small Reptiles & Turtles
EXPERIENCE
Be prepared to observe exotic wildlife as you hike into Tropical Jungle, don't worry though about in-dangering your life because you'll be traveling a popular Route which animals tend to avoid. Just be careful of the Monkeys, as they tend to steal food when you're not paying attention
There are Two main Hiking Tracks/Routes through the forest, with more routes joining them and unless you're extremely fit you'll likely have to do two separate day trips to complete all of Penang National Park
The popular Path is alongside the Coastal Beach, is known as Monkey Beach whereas Hikers have the Sight of Penang's Ocean at all times. Deemed to be the more popular hike, you'll end up at a quiet Beach and for those wishing to camp there is an official camp site near the beach . This remote, scenic beach with monkeys, water sports & snack shacks is reached by boat or a hike.
Pantai Kerachut - A path that cuts right through the Tropical Hills, where a Network of Paths interconnect, Travelers can choose between many different Routes however the Ceramic Lake is situated at Pantai Kerachut. This hike will take you into Penang's thick tropical jungle, as this path ventures into the Green Hills of Teluk Bahang
Tracks through the jungle are often steep, wet and entangled with lots of roots, tree trunks & rocks to climb over, so it's best to wear some proper Bring your Camera because you don't want to miss out on the great Scenery. Wear something light as it may be quite humid and sunny.

Take a hike along the park’s lush rainforest trails, keeping your eyes peeled for monkeys, monitor lizards and tropical birds, cool off in the turquoise waters of Telok Tukun Beach before heading to the sublime sands of Pantai Kerachut, where you’ll enjoy a box lunch before taking a boat back. Remember to bring along a Bag to hold all the fruits, that you can buy at the entrance of Park (Mangoes, Dragon Fruit, Banana, Honey Dew & Pineapple)
