The Award-winning Entopia is known to be one first few Butterfly Farm to have been established during 20th Century and home to an average flying population of 4000 Malaysian butterflies of 120 different species. It was once formerly known as Penang Butterfly Farm that was open to the public in 1986 and currently situated close to the town of Teluk Bahang

Penang's Butterfly Farm was primarily set up in order to preserve & study exotic Butterfly's from around the world however over the years it has become of Penang's most popular Tourist Attractions, serving as a center for Education, Recreation, and scientific research. Now it's a world famous tropical sanctuary for our planet’s little denizens from those that fly freely in the sky to the ones that creep stealthily beneath the ground

When visiting Entopia, you will be surrounded by a myriad of fluttering butterflies within a seemingly natural setting, all that takes place Indoors

A Sanctuary for Butterflies but also features Insectarium (a live Insect zoo, or a museum or exhibit of live insects), live animals & exotic well landscape garden great for those who appreciate a green scenery

EXPERIENCE

You'll be assigned a tour guide, who give you an Introduction to the Insect world at the beginning of the Sanctuary. Get ready to see Giant Centipedes, Leaf Insects, Stick Insects, Praying Mantises and over 300 different species of plants & various exotic butterfly species (Including the Rajah Brooke and the endangered Yellow Birdwing butterfly)

There was also an Interesting Audio Visual room that showcases some educational programs for the students and public to build up awareness towards the beauty of Mother Nature and the Insect world

Bring your Camera because you don't want to miss out on the great scenery, which is great for taking photos. Wear something light and bring some Sun cream as you'll be exploring the humid gardens, so it's advisable to visit during the evening or early in the morning to avoid Penang's Hot Weather and also peak visiting hours

This is a good place to spend a solid 2-4 hours, if you really spend a little time to learn about each animal they have on display. Photographers can take some decent shots here, and kids will surely love the close up view of butterflies. There are also a lot of education to be had from this place, as they showcase the process of hatching butterflies right in front of your eyes!
