Photo Short #25 - The Cloisters At Gloucester Cathedral
I took today’s Photo Short in the cloisters of Gloucester Cathedral in the southwest of England.
This is only about eight miles from where I grew up, but a place I’ve only visited twice. I’ve travelled the world taking photos, yet I’ve done little travelling around my home country. It’s strange how that's often the case. With all the beautiful places to see in the world, I think we sometimes forget to look at what's on our own doorstep.
Gloucester Cathedral’s a place of historical importance, with several notable burials including Edward II, and one of William the Conqueror’s sons. It’s perhaps most famous for its cloisters, as shown in this photo. It gained some recent notoriety with several of the scenes from the Harry Potter movies being filmed here.
