Short trip to Dresden, Day 4 - Ascent to the dome of the Frauenkirche
In our last post we reported about the Restaurant "lila Soße" in Dresdn Neustadt (deutsch, english).
On our last day in Dresden we decided to ascent to the dome of the Frauenkirche. The first partial climb takes place with an elevator up to 24m height. The path continues on a narrow ascending spiral path (Wendelrampe) two and a half times around the dome. From the final steel staircase you reach the observation platform at 67m height. Here we had a great view over Dresden and the Elbe. The entrance fee was 8, - EUR. Especially at good weather conditions you should invest the admission charge.

Return by train
On our way back the trains were astonishingly on time. When we moved from Fulda to Würzburg unfortunately the ICE was again completely overcrowded so that our place reservation was lapsed. Therefore we spent the last 35 minutes of our train journey standing at the exit of the ICE in the corridor. But at least we were on time.
As a souvenir we decided to buy a Dresdner Stollen. From this we will report more precisely in a separate post.

And today we have unpacked our souvenir, the Dresdner Stollen :-)
