✈Let'sTravel#7 – NYC
Hi everyone and welcome to my Let'sTravel series!
Today it will all be about New York! Well what is there to say about New York, everyone probably knows quite a lot about NY, even if you haven't been to NY yourself! Why is that so? A lot of movies are being shot in NY, so you see a lot of its places, without even going there. When you get there though, the feeling of it gets quite lost, at least in my easy... Don't get me wrong, it still is a fascinating city, the skyscrapers and just the complete city, but not the same... Also I think it's really dirty there, I would rather go to Tokyo, Lisbon, San Diego and many others, this could get a very long list.
Nevertheless I will show you some photos with some tips of NYC!
Skyscrapers everywhere you go, but you know that already... I would say NYC is worth a visit, but I don't need to go there again. Definitely go up the Empire State building and have a look over the city, really fascinating up there!
You should really walk around Brooklyn bridge, Manhattan bridge and go over to Vinegar Hill, around these places there is some pretty cool stuff to see.
Some facts about NYC:
- Around 15000 forms of life have been found in the NYC Subway system ...
- There is a skyscraper with no windows in NYC
- New Yorkers bite 10 times more people per year than sharks do (This is jsut crazy!)
- It can cost nearly $300,000 to operate a hot dog stand around Central Park
What else, but Hot Dogs! I mean it's quick and good! But there are of course many other places I would just wander around, you will find a lot of places...
Flatiron Building is worth a visit if you are interested in architecture, also many other buildings of course! Since I am studying interior architecture, I am interested in everything in and around buildings...
These taxi drivers are just crazy drivers in NYC :D Either you tell them you got time and they won't race if you are lucky, but most probably not....
If you feel like being watched, most probably it's because you are being watched!
...some more impressions of NYC...
If you happen to go to NYC, try not to do the mainstream things... Best would be to stay with airbnb and maybe the locals can give you some advice! We did all the mainstream things + some offgrid, today I wouldn't do the mainstream things anymore, at least not all of it...
Do you have any more questions? Or need tips? Feel free to share your questions or your own tips, I will read all of them and reply as soon as possible.
I hope you enjoyed my "Let's Travel" series. Let me know what you think, so I get the chance to improve! We finally made it to the US, are there any cities you would prefer?
I wish you a great week and see you soon!

This is a good appetizer post for what you should check out in #newyorkcity. Thanks for some awesome pictures! You captured the Flatiron Building very well, and the final picture with the truck and reflection off the tall building in the background is awesome too!
I would suggest heading up to the "Top of the Rock" for pictures at Sunset. It's a tough place to beat! You get an amazing view of Central Park as well as a view of all buildings south of 47th Street (including Times Square). Heading to the top of the Empire State Building is great too .. it just has some limited views based on where it's located in the city :)
Thanks a lot & also thanks for the tip to the community! You get upvoted by me if you give tips to us, could be interesting to know for other people following me too, but don't start spamming my posts now :D

I love New York!
I used to work as a mover in the metropolis, so I know the palce well, from the gritty industrial underbelly of Queens to the towering penthouses of Manhattan.
There is a certain electricity in the place that I have'nt felt anywhere else - so hectic, diverse and beguiling.
Thanks for the memories!
You could give some cool tips to the community! :) I mean you were a mover, you must know some really cool places! That's true it's really hectic, some people love it some don't. For me it was just too much of a rush in the city! Thanks for your comment :)
This is making me homesick! ♡
meep
The picture of Marty Mcfly is simply amazing! I want that in my room, now! :D
Schon :D haha
Schön und gut, aber zeig doch mal mehr bilder von dir!
ein Bild reicht wohl ich bin scheu vor der Kamera ;)
Wonderful post with great pictures! So what did you guys do that was not too touristy and you would recommend? I feel the same way about visiting places - of course you want to do the mainstream stuff but also experience it a little more through a local's eyes. 😊
Thanks a lot! I don't remember the exact places, but we went to the Meatpacking District (not sure if its touristy or not), also to a bar where they had open mic on some days which was pretty cool (mostly locals there) and what I liked to we went to some basketball courts throwing some balls with some locals :)
Great article! I lived there for years and can't say I was aware of the biting problem. I know there was a problem with people pushing others in front of a train at least once a month. Of the 15,000 forms of life in the subway I'm gonna say half of that must be part of the rat hierarchy...lol.
Appreciate it! Thank :) Wow why would they push someone in front of a train... or do you mean they trip over?
No, I mean people actually shoving other people onto the tracks. It's unfortunate and why I don't know. I do know a lot of people stand too close to the platform edge and this makes for an easy mark. This definitely made me stand closer to the wall.
I totally agree with you, gotta stay with some locals or Airbnb. I stayed in Jersey City with my friend and it really made me feel like I got the whole experience. I was just living like everyone else there. Definitely a memorable experience.
Thanks again for sharing these epic photos. Makes me want to go to NYC real soon.
Thanks for the great post and pics! I've been there once many years ago and was only there for two days for work. My favorite thing that we did there, which is probably a mainstream thing but is something that I recommend, is take the double decker bus tour around the city. That was fascinating. I'd love to do that again. I wonder if I lived there would I just spend my days on that bus watching all the activity in the city?
