As I mentioned in previous posts, Vienna has something special. Located on the banks of Danube river, it is the most important city in Austria and one of the oldest European capitals. Its a wonderful city where you can listen to beautiful operas or eat a famous Snitzchel with a pint of cold beer.

Como ya os comenté en posts anteriores, Viena tiene algo especial. Ubicada a orillas del Danubio, es la ciudad más importante de Austria y una de las capitales europeas más antiguas. Esa maravillosa ciudad en la que puedes escuchar una preciosa ópera o tomar un famoso Snitzchel con una pinta de cerveza bien fría.

Karlskirche Church / Iglesia de Karlskirche

The Church of Karlskirche is a Baroque church located in the southern part of Karlsplatz, one of the most famous squares in Vienna very close to the Danube river. On the outside it is amazing, with a monumental entrance.

La Iglesia de Karlskirche (o de San Carlos Borromeo en español) es una iglesia barroca situada en la parte sur de Karlsplatz, una de las plazas más famosas de Viena muy cercana al río Danubio. Por fuera es asombrosa, con una monumental entrada.

It is a unique church of its kind, with its two columns of titanic size! These two moles are only decorative, previously they were accessible towers but nowadays they are closed.
The church is a symbol of religious and political power of the imperial Habsburg dynasty.
The works were begun in 1716, and after the architect's death in 1723, the works were continued, until their completion in 1737, by the builder's son.

Se trata de una iglesia unica en su tipo , con sus dos columnas de tamaño titanico!! Estas dos moles son solo decorativas, anteriormente eran torres accesibles hoy esta clausuradas su ingreso.
La iglesia es un símbolo de poder religioso y político de la dinastía imperial de los Habsburgo.
Las obras se iniciaron en 1716, y tras la muerte del arquitecto en 1723, las obras fueron continuadas, hasta su terminación en 1737, por el hijo del constructor.

The church is a masterpiece of Baroque eclecticism, in which different styles are combined: the central facade represents a Greek portico, the columns next to it are of Baroque inspiration and above the entrance dominates a gigantic dome. The two lateral pavilions show influences of the Roman baroque and oriental decoration. 1 The building has a height of 80 meters by about 60 wide and is the second largest temple in the capital after the Cathedral of San Esteban

La iglesia constituye una obra maestra del eclecticismo barroco, en el que se combinan diferentes estilos: la fachada central representa un pórtico griego, las columnas a su lado son de inspiración barroca y sobre la entrada domina una gigantesca cúpula. Los dos pabellones laterales muestran influencias del barroco romano y decoración oriental. 1 El edificio tiene una altura de 80 metros por unos 60 de ancho y constituye el segundo templo más amplio de la capital después de la catedral de San Esteban.

I would like to Highlight the importance of the dome, in which you can see a fresco called "The apotheosis of St. Charles Borromeo."

Destaca la cúpula en la que se pueden contemplar un fresco denominado "La apoteosis de san Carlos Borromeo".

At night it is even better.

Por la noche es incluso mejor.

Schönbrunn Palace / Palacio de Schönbrunn

If you purchased the entrance to the Sisi Museum and the Hofburg Palace (which I recommended in the previous post), it also includes the entrance to the Schönbrunn Palace. In my opinion it is something simpler and with less curiosities than the Hofburg Palace, however it has lush gardens to stroll through and a tremendous park where you can sit and watch the city.

Si comprasteis la entrada del museo Sisi y el Palacio de Hofburg (que recomendé en el anterior post), también incluye la entrada al Palacio de Schönbrunn. En mi opinión es algo más sencillo y con menos curiosidades que el Palacio de Hofburg, sin embargo cuenta con unos jardines frondosos por los que pasear y un parque tremendo en el que poder sentarte a ver la ciudad.

Mercado Naschmarkt

It is the most popular street market in Vienna, where you can find colorful flower stalls, meat, bread and all kinds of food. For us it was some of the best of Vienna since you can have a good time walking through the market while you taste the food of any food stall (there are a lot).

Se trata del mercado callejero más popular de Viena, donde puedes encontrar coloridos puestos de flores, carne, pan y todo tipo de alimentos. Para nosotros de lo mejorcito de Viena ya que puedes pasar un buen rato paseando por el mercado mientras degustas la comida de cualquier puesto de comida (hay muchos).

There you can find all kinds of spices, cheeses, olives, nuts and even variety of salts from anywhere in the world that you can imagine.

En él podrás encontrar todo tipo de especias, quesos, aceitunas, frutos secos y hasta variedad de sales de cualquier parte del mundo que se te pueda ocurrir.

You can also buy clothes like in the typical town market.

También puedes comprar ropa como en el típico mercadillo de pueblo.

In addition, in this market there are a wide variety of international restaurants at affordable prices.

Además, en este mercado existe gran variedad de restaurantes internacionales a precios asequibles.

We went on a Thursday and we liked it so much that we went back on Saturday. If you do not like crowds it is better for you to go during the week, although it is true that on Saturday there is more atmosphere.

Nosotros fuimos un jueves y nos gustó tanto que volvimos a ir el sábado. Si no te gustan las aglomeraciones es mejor que vayas entre semana, aunque cierto es que el sábado hay más ambiente.

On Thursday we went to a restaurant to sit down and try the typical Vienes dish, the Bratwurst sausage with garnished sauerkraut.

El jueves fuimos a un restaurante a sentarnos y probar la típico plato Vienes, la salchicha Bratwurst con chucrut de guarnición.

On Saturday as we loved the market, we went back again. This time, instead of sitting in a restaurant we sat down to have a glass of wine and we took what has been the most delicious Kebab I have ever had in my life.

El sábado como nos había encantado el mercado, volvimos. Esta vez, en vez de sentarnos en un restaurante nos sentamos a tomar una copa de vino y tomamos lo que ha sido el Kebab más delicioso que me he tomado en mi vida.

I love kebabs, and who was going to tell me that the one I liked the most so far was in Vienna and a vegan Kebab!. Am I sure? Yes, this kebab made with falafel and vegetables has been the one I liked the most in my life, and I have to say that I've tried hundreds, even thousands, because I love them.

Me encantan los kebabs, y quien me iba a decir que el que más me ha gustado hasta ahora fue en Viena y un Kebab vegano!. ¿En serio? Sí, este kebab hecho con falafel y con verdura ha sido el que mas me ha gustado en mi vida, y he de decir que he probado cientos, incluso miles, porque me encantan.
