Travel Diaries - Enchanting Tulip Garden of Srinagar

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

My last couple of blogs have been kind of little heavy, so today I decide to lighten up a bit. Also it is festival time back here in India, so to keep up with the festivities and the galloping mood of the season, I present my today’s post to you all with much love, high energies and happiness 😇

When we think of Tulip Gardens the first name that occurs to us is Amsterdam, but today I want to let you all know that there is an equally beautiful Tulip Garden in India, and that’s in Srinagar- Jammu & Kashmir, at the Northern peak of India. The sad part is that’s its open only for one month in the year and that’s in April. Luckily I was in the place at the same time and that’s how I discovered of this place and was lucky enough to visit.

This Garden is named after the late Prime Minister of India Smt. Indira Gandhi, opened in 2007. In Asia this is one of the largest Tulip Garden. The location of this garden is very beautiful giving a good overview of another tourist attraction of Srinagar - Dal Lake, which is famous for its Boat House stay.

Magnificently spread out in vibrant colors

Family memories are always very special

For all the Non-Indians, if you ever visit India, do not miss to visit Jammu & Kashmir. Its a very beautiful breadth taking destination. You will find a glimpse of the Alps of Switzerland here in the Alps of Kashmir.
Kashmir has been politically criticized a lot, but its not as bad as the media has made it sound.

Thank you

I just hope these tulipes do not rely to the future Bitcoin BubbleCrash :D

@nainaztengra - Lovely blossoms and a lovely family. I have not been fortunate enough to visit the Tulip gardens in Jammu-Kashmir but have seen miles and miles of Tulips in Amsterdam. It is such a fantastic experience. Thank you for refreshing those memories for me.

Wow you have been to Amsterdam, its on my wish list to be there some day, but I am glad that in the mean time I got to visit this place

I visited Srinagar and the Jammu and Kashmir region many times and the scenery is I agree so breathtakingly beautiful in some areas,
I remember spending a weekend on a houseboat there was an amazing experience

And tithe tulip fields as you share here something I never expected to see when. Visited there the first time but was fortunate to see them about 3 times in different years and Loved it

Sorry I messed up and my Voting Power needs to build up so no upvote today sorry

Tip!

Kashmir is so very beautiful, but sad its not maintained the way it should be. We too had an amazing holiday there

YEsit was so sad to see even years ago when I was there and it was pretty much locked down under military control not sure if it is still the same

No its quite accesssible now, but the standard of living is very poor, and not well maintained except for few places which are like major tourist attractions

That’s sad to hear, well that the area is poor but that it is more open now, the natural beauty there is open to more to visit could great ly improve life there

What a lovely garden and a great pic of your family! India seems to have so many different types of landscapes from mountains to tropical beaches.

Yes its truly an amazing place an true India along with it's diversified culture also has varied landscapes. Whatever you can think of you'll find in India

What an gorgeous place and family photo 💗 Those dark tulips are very cool. I've never been into tulips but seeing them in this garden makes me want to have a small tulip garden of my own. Thank you for sharing love xxx

Ohhh wow thats an aeesome idea. If you have the right place and climate supports its a very good idea.
