Why did the chicken cross the road???
Well, actually, it was a rooster!
I went for a bike ride today in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, turned a corner onto a busy street and saw these beauties!
I think the rooster crossed the street because the rest of the family started it :)

I really thought they were beautiful, so I stayed and watched them eating in the grass. Their house is across the street but their food is not...apparently;)
They are none too little either :)
This is one of the many reasons why I love living here in Mexico! Unlike Canada, people can keep chickens/roosters in their yards in the middle of the city and there aren't a million rules in place to stop them, or a millions hoops to jump through to allow them.
Life is simple here, and there is often such beauty in that simplicity.
Do you ever think that sometimes life is so full of unnecessary rules that we end up missing out on living?? Tell me what you think!

Sounds like a slow day when you can pay more attention to your surroundings including watching the chickens!! Hehe it is true the rustling and bustling of city life may take our eyes off the simplicity of life :) Glad you didn't miss that out today @lynncoyle1 !

Yes society is full of bs rules and sometimes they are good in principle the base of them don’t steal, kill..that direction. But after a while they started to take control of our lives and every behavior that is uncommon is frowned upon..for example I am a smoker and I usually like to smoke out on my balcony..I had people stop using the pathway to walk their dogs because it is an “unusual” behavior to sit outside and smoke while reading something...
so bizarre! My dad is a smoker and says it's like being a leper! :)
