Hello itinerants all over world and the steemit community!

I am here again for my another travel blog series. If you happen to visit Palawan, you might wanna know the things you can do there. If you are a traveler and fond of buying or collecting souvenirs from certain places, then continue reading.

It's part of the tradition for Filipinos to buy "pasalubong" or "souvenirs" in every trip that we have to bring back home. I am not fond of collecting souvenirs but I give them to my friends and relatives. Most people termed this as "“bring home something for me.” which is indeed accurate. It is important not just for travelers but also for the tourism of the community. In most provinces it's one of their ways of living.

1.) MCA Market Mall , Pasalubong Center.

For this article, I will be only sharing the major and popular pasalubong shops that I have been to during my trip. Firstly , the MCA Market Mall , Pasalubong Center. It's just 10 minutes away from the new airport of Puerto Princesa. It's just actually walking distant but if you don't feel like hiking you may also ride a tricycle but I think it's not reasonable for it's way too near and drivers will cost you same amount of far distances. They do have complete set of souvenirs from accessories to food.

They have these grandiose chandeliers composed of shells and other natural materials. You can choose from different sizes. These are very unique for they were made personally by locals of Puerto.

I am not too sure if these are home decors but I most see them on native restaurants. They look so cool and symbolizes our ancestors living in the past.

You will really feel tired roaming around for there are so many stores in it. There are variety of unique choices. If you are on a budget I highly suggest to never stop bargaining and roaming around for you to save. They will surely give you discount for they have a lot of competitors.

It's really a good place to buy cultural and traditional stuffs where you can display in your house. I don't remember the exact prices but I remember them not being pricey. For beach bums these really suit us for they are very oceanic and traditional. Buying souvenir has always been an integral element of one’s travel experience, and may represent a significant proportion of overall travel expenditure. Like these cool carved wood stuffs they symbolized the beauty of Palawan and it's culture.

They also sell elegantly affordable accessories made from pearls, gems and other natural materials. They are very cheap compared in the City. I think if you buy like these in the City, it costs three times than here. I suggest you have to bulk buy so that you can save more. These are very perfect souvenirs for your sisters, mother, girlfriend and friends.

Huge wooden spoons and forks. These were the ones used by our ancestors. There they say that our ancestors use as huge as this because they were very fond on cooking huge amount of foods and they were really into cooking in every celebrations. These were used in festivals and other occasions in the past.

Cool and unique keychains and home decors made from shells and other materials from the ocean. In the Philippines, the tourism industry has really offered a lot of opportunities to the locals who want to have part time income by doing such thing. We all know that Philippines is rich in natural resources and visited by many tourists. So, this industry never goes out style.

They also have consumable goods. I personally like trying delicacies in every trip I do. I prefer buying these than things maybe just because I love eating that collecting stuffs. You really have to try their delicacies since you only travel once in awhile and you cannot find these just anywhere else. Try everything! It's just charge to experience.

2.) BAKER'S HILL PALAWAN PASALUBONG CENTER

Baker's hill is one of the visited tourist spot in Puerto Princesa. It's an hour away from the city proper but the place is really worth the time and effort. Baker's Hill is literally on top of a hill which has been developed and later became one of the famous place in the province.

Baker's hill is more of delicacies and pastries from their pastry shop business. I can tell these really taste deliciously good. You better prepare extra penny for you can spend too much here. The prices are quite pricey but reasonable.
