MY FAVORITE JAPANESE RESTAURANT (JOED'S LUTONG HAPON) - Cebu City, Philippines

As a self-confessed frugal traveler and voracious eater on a budget, I am really good at finding best picks to dine and go-to places anywhere I go. For today's food blog series, I will be sharing one of my favorite ramen shop here in Cebu. I love trying different kinds of foods specially Asian cuisines. Japanese Ramen has always been my comfort food. I have tried some ramens from different Japanese restaurants here in Cebu but this is just amazingly delicious with a reasonable price. Joed's Lutong Bahay (APM Central Branch) is located at A. Soriano Avenue, North Reclamation Area, Cebu City just in front of SM City Cebu. They already have few branches all over the city but this place is just my favorite for it's very convenient to shopping malls and transportation.

I like the ambiance because it makes you feel like you are in Japan. It is just simple but very cozy. Wooden chairs and tables, Japanese lanterns and perfect lighting are worth every shot. They also have a mini stage where they can have a live band.

Joan and Edgar (JOED) first started this business way back 2009 as a mini Japanese eatery or we call it here in the Philippines as carinderia (a local eatery selling and serving and viands with wooden benches. The carinderia was considered as a respite of travelers having originated as a quick food service in busy crossroads.) My favorites in their menu are spicy kimchi ramen( P200.00/ 3.94 US Dollar), bento-mix (Php150/3 dollars)? and Pork Gyudon (P95.00/ 1.869 US Dollar). *Prices are subject to change without prior notice. You'll surely love their authentic Japanese dishes with Filipino style and taste.

Their business continues to boom for it's very affordable but doesn't compromise its quality. It never fails me to satisfy my cravings for Japanese food. Their staffs are also friendly. The place is very clean and air-conditioned. They only have limited chairs and tables so they entertain customers in a first come first serve basis. If you are freelancer, it's also a good place to stay for the entire day for they have strong internet connection. There are more people on weekends just a heads up. I hope it somehow helps you to satisfy your cravings for Japanese food. Absolutely worth your penny!
