Flight Attendant's Story - A Miraculous City -Dubai
In Dubai, you can see two totally different worlds in a same place that you seldom see somewhere else — modernization meets primitivism. When I first time flew to Dubai, what surprised me is so many luxury cars like BMWs, Mercedes, and also lots of new model Ferraris and Porsches on the busy roads and the car parks. They just look like some old cars with dusts and scratches with nothing special . Seems fancy cars are not that important to their owners. When looking around to the sky, felt so impressed yet a bit stressed because of the tall buildings surrounding us. As all know, the tallest building in Dubai ( in the world now probably) is the Burj Khalifa which rises 828 metros and contains 163 floors. More taller and taller buildings are coming. Actually what dreams the locals chasing for?
Back to the trip, that time we didn’t explore the city much, we all preferred go to desert Safari and explore a different world in Dubai. We booked the trip when we arrived on the first day and the day trip started next day morning. We went there in a wrong timing I thought — So windy all the time and no sunshine at all. So we must have to buy the scarfs for covering our months and eyes before taking the crazy dune driving. We all looked like Ninja. Funny. After we jumped on the ride, we all regretted. The driver was doing his best job -- let us experience how exciting and bumpy the ride could be. It made us wanna throw up badly in the car and felt so dizzy for whole day. I could just hear my two girls and two other Australian big guys non stop screaming in a air-tight vehicle. It was a nightmare for us haha.
Due to the bad weather, our schedule was a bit delayed and the tour guides just pushed us to take our first camel ride. It didn't take too long because those camels did not cooperate that much -- kept running without instructions and poo poo every two mins. Then we quickly moved to next section -- Henna painting because my girls shouldn't stand the special smells from camels.LOL
We spent around 30 minutes each to have our henna painting on our ankles. I wanted to have it on my upper arm but I couldn't because I had to hide it under my uniform. This henna painting will last for 4-5 days or even a week, depends on your skin quality. It looks beautiful right?
We had BBQ buffet dinner afterward and enjoyed the belly dancing at the same time. The barbecued meat on the skewers were so good and yummy. We didn't take pictures because we were too busy to eat for sure. haha. After the trip, I couldn't wait to take a nice bath in my hotel room. It was a relaxing and wonderful ending for that long day.
Thanks for reading the post and enjoy the journey with me. It makes my experience special and unforgettable when I still can remember the details and share something about my flying stories with all of you. Hope you can always be with me and we can fly together one day.
Much love,
Gladys

Dubai looks beautiful, your pictures are lovely, and it looks like you had a great time. However, please be very careful while visiting over there, as stories such as this regarding what can happen to women in Dubai are pretty horrifying:

Thanks for your sharing. I heard so many horrified news from the placed in UAE. I will pay attention to it :)
Beautiful story with amazing pictures.
The stuff from which steemit dreams are made.
Greetings to Dubai :-)

Thanks ;) that one was taken through my hotel room window. Pretty nice tho.
Seems amazing to experience all these things! Also, the henna is quite beautiful :-)
Thanks for your lovely comment @playfulfoodie. I love the henna so much too.

Thanks so much @ace108. I always fly to Singapore and it is so nice. I'll be there in two weeks again. Can't wait! Followed back.
新年快乐<3
You're welcome. 2 weeks is peak Chinese New Year shopping time. Chinatown was getting crowded already. I'm on steemit.chat. If you make your way here, let me know. see if timing fit and we can grab a coffee. :-)
Thanks for following.
Yes I'm excited for the CNY there :) sure! If time permits we can make it happen:)
Think it's quite like HK in the shops opening way. 初一初二,mostly shops closed. What to eat? Pizza Hut, MacD, KFC, etc. Nowadays, some restaurants start to open throughout but the serve special Chinese New Year set menu and charge special price. Maybe you can find a chance to go to Little India if you spend the holidays here. Some shops belonging to be bigger chain opens on 初二 already but the traditional ones even close on 初三。 Last few years, the supermarket starts to open on 初二。So, can still stock cup noodles la. :-)
