Revisiting Clovelly

This is my entry to @Claudiaz's Fun Photo Contest where this week's theme is framed.

This shot was taken under the Red Lion Pub looking through to Clovelly Harbour.

You can find out more about this pretty and unusual village in my Captivating Clovelly post. It's a couple of weeks old though so don't waste an upvote on it! 😊

I was planning on submitting mutiple entries to this contest but time just seems to have run away from me and it's already day 5.

Still enough time for you though if you'd like to have a go! 😊

Amazing shot

It's amazing how a simple thing like framing adds something—a weight? Emphasis? It certainly makes it much more interesting to look at. Especially when it looks like you're coming through a tunnel from one world into another. The rock work of the tunnel and ground is pretty interesting, too. Obviously manmade, it looks old, where things were done by hand rather than machine.

Yes. This would definitely have been built by hand. It does feel like a tunnel, albeit a small one, just the length of the floor of the building.

That is such a lovely shot through the arch. Very nicely done.

Very good shot! Bravo! As a transition at another time. There's a little rectangular slab on the cobblestones. What's that?

It's a drain hole cover I think. Gives access to the sewage pipe!

Thanks for the explanation, Gillian.

It is lovely! Calm and interesting!

Yes. We were lucky when we visited. It wasn't too busy!

Ah nice, you'r giving us Clovelly by drops ... jokes apart this gives me the feeling of a mysterious place. You got a great scene Gillian my best wishes for the contest :)

It's a lovely place, especially out of season like this, when it's not full of tourists. 😊

If you do frecuently go there I would suggest you looking for the same scene but when sun still sends its rays to the place, I don't know when it's best but I guess it could be at sunset.

I can't remember which way it faces. It might not be the right way for a sunset. Would make a great photo though. 😊

It seems to be a very beautiful and mysterious place. Congratulations for the beautiful picture and description. @Gilianpearce
