Good day Steemit Community!
It has already been a while since I last posted a blog, so today I decided to share some information about my visit at a leisure park in the middle of the busy city streets of Quezon City in the Philippines. So, here it goes!

Travelling to the park will actually make you sweat due to the heat from pollution and also traffic (common travelling in Manila stories). Coming from Antipolo City in Rizal Province, it took me about 45 minutes to arrive at the destination. I also had to ride 2 jeepneys going there, but the fare is quite cheap because I just had to spend 48.

The jeepney going to the "circle", as folks call it, will only drop you near a government building. You still have to pass through an underground tunnel to cross the street and finally arrive at the location. I was actually lucky that it was not that hot when I went because it was already 3:00 in the afternoon. Arriving at the circle, I was overwhelmed with how big it is.

The Quezon Memorial Circle is a national park located in Quezon City, the capital of the Philippines from 1948 to 1976. The park is located inside a traffic circle in the shape of an ellipse (so, not really a perfect circle), and is bounded by the elliptical road.

In the middle of the circle is where you can find a 217-ft (66-metre) infrastructure called the Quezon Memorial Shrine. It was actually dedicated to the second official president of the Philippines, Manuel L. Quezon. Underneath the shrine is a museum dedicated also to him. The museum also contains the remains of the former president and his wife's.

We we're advised by the security guard not to post any pictures inside the museum so that there is still a thrill for tourists when they go there...

It was friday when I went there and what I notice is that a lot of students from schools near the circle like University of the Philippines go there to hangout or have picnic. According to several folks we asked there, the circle has been going through several changes and renovations during the past years in order to attract more tourists to visit the place. Actually, it will be the future location of a planned MRT station which is great news for visitors as they can already avoid the traffic going there.

Inside the circle are picnic areas and food stalls both for both high-end and middle to low class people.

I actually found this shop beside The Coconut House very interesting because they sell homemade hand-made ice cream products. I love their ice cream sandwich the best!

The park is full of trees making it less hotter when you walk inside. The park also offers leisure activities such as biking and the like.

Several stalls also sell accessories like henna tattoo and organic products like plants, gardening supplies, organic honey, and many more.

There is also a mini amusement park inside the circle in which there are rides.

Unfortunately, there are only selected days where it is open.

After paying for the entrance fee of 40 pesos, we get to to go inside.

The shrine actually looks marvelous during sunset. Then at night, it is lighted by colored lights which changes from time to time.

Quezon Memorial Circle is truly a place where you can relax and hangout with your friends or family after a week full of stress at work or at school. It is a place for a fun bonding time with your loved ones. Oh a tip! Go there during friday night and you can have a free public screening of your favorite movies. The place is also truly a place worth visiting. Hope you liked my blog! Follow for more!
