This Is How Travelling to Munich, Germany Going To Be On Your Bucket List!

in #travel6 years ago (edited)

Hello, my fellow travel explorers~

It is yet another travel time with me. Well, this time we are going to ditch the nature to visit the land of origin to all your luxury cars like Mercedes, BMW, and Audi. It is nonetheless, Germany! Personally, even though I am a huge nature lover, but, I also do find it enjoying to be surrounded by the buzzing streets, skyscrapers and the energetic atmosphere.

Being the third largest city in Germany, after Berlin and Hamburg, Munich is highly recognized as a city that has high expectancy and people there generally demands a high quality of living. Thus, it is no surprise that Munich is filled with diversity that majors multiple constituents that contribute to the economic growth like arts, technology, finance, publishing, culture, education, business, and also tourism.

There are many attractions to be seen in Munich. But, these are the highlights that everyone should slow down the time to enjoy it. First of all, "Siegestor" is the Victory Gate of Munich which is a three-arched triumphal arch crowned with a statue of Bavaria with a lion-quadriga that was sustained from the heavy damage in World War II.

However, the gate was restored as a symbol of remembrance dedicated to the glory of the Bavarian army. But, now, this prestigious statue exemplifies the peace that lives among us. This gate now has been an attraction to most of the tourist who visits Munich due to stunning outlook.

Next, no one leaves Munich without leaving the iconic "Olympiaturm".

The Olympic Tower is located at the "Olympiapark München". This park was built in the year 1972 for the Summer Olympics and it is now been the signature attraction for tourist and also the local especially during the Summer. At this time of the year, the park is the absolute favorite for many due to the wide landscape and the scenic view.

Olympic Tower offers a spectacular view of the surroundings and also the signature view of Olympic Stadium and the BMW Headquarters. One's can enter the tower for the observation platform for 7 Euro per person.

As for your curiosity, the views are spectacular!

Especially you know that every corner, every inch you move you'll find something new. To your surprise, you might even find yourself being lucky like I was to witness a concert of "Gun N' Roses".

IMG_9368.JPG

The "Olympiastadion in Munich" is renowned for its establishment and also the fact that it's huge enough to accommodate a total of 80,000 thousand people at once. This stadium has left more historical attainment like hosting the 1974 FIFA World Cup Final and the UEFA Euro 1988 Final. Due to its substantial capacity, now it has been a home to many major events and concerts. Especially during the summer. It's been a hotspot for many occasions.

Next thing you know is, being on the observation platform of this tower, you'll about to witness the glorious "4 cylinders".

IMG_9371.JPG

This reputable landmark serves as the headquarters for the Bavarian automaker BMW since 1973. The exterior of the tower in the shape of the four cylinders resembles the interior engine of an automobile. Serving as the car manufacturer and also a museum, BMW headquarters offer more than you can expect.

IMG_3605.JPG

As a car lover, especially you're a fan of BMW. You'll get to have your jaw-drops, picturing yourself to be the next owner of the cars. If you're expecting just a few automobiles and a small museum in the hall, you're wrong. The enormous area is furnished with an extensive variety of BMW exclusive automobile ranging from the classic on-the-road BMW 1 series to special editions MC 5 series.

Also, my favorite of the BMW 7 series.

Take a minute off these beauties, head down to the Olympia park for slow down your time, enjoy a nice walk accompanied by a fresh German "Bratwurst" while rejoicing the beautiful summer weather of Munich.

IMG_0893.JPG

It's no surprise that you'll see many food trucks along at this park where you can definitely indulge yourself in with some delicious doner kebaps, classic bratwurst or some refreshing drinks. As for a person who loves meat and being in Germany is nothing but blessed for you and me, where you'll find the world finest sausages everywhere at the corner of the streets or restaurants.

By noon, head down to the busiest "Marienplatz" U-Bahn district where you start your shopping spree at the open air pedestrian walkways.

IMG_0885.JPG

Marienplatz's clock tower and the town has been the favorite for many. There are many beautiful shops and quaint cafes lining up along the side of the pedestrian for tourists and the locals had made what it is now of the top listed tourist attraction. Despite the fact of being populated with tourists, it preserves the natural beauty of the German Culture and also the home for the Christmas Market for many.

IMG_0889.JPG

The buzzing and lively street are what makes Munich one of the busiest city in Germany. Just across a street, you'll see the reason why the place is so populated is that the "Biergarten" which has been all time favorite of all Germans and even tourists.

IMG_0894.JPG

It's typical in Munich, the origin of "Oktoberfest" to have their beer culture widely spread in a garden where people who embrace this culture of having a drink outdoor has made Munich extraordinary. It's common to have seen beers and local food is served like bratwurst, Weiner Shnitzel and etc accompanied by a cold beer during the day or night. Common entertainment like music, songs, and games are typical to be happening especially during the peak seasons.

It's no surprise you'll see people from all around the world to visit Munich specifically just for "Oktoberfest". To experience a truly authentic way of German drinking culture.

Never leave Munich without seeing "The Walking Man" at the city center that is placed right at the entrance of MunichRe.

IMG_9397.JPG

This million dollar piece of art is crafted by Jonathan Borofsky has been a landmark of Munich. The sculpture was crafted in California and shipped to Munich in the late 90's. MunichRe embraces the artwork of many artists with the collection of not just this gigantic sculpture but also artwork like Discrepancy by Roxy Paine and Concave rounded by Rupprecht Geiger. If you're into art, this is where you might want to be next.

Take a break from your busy Munich visiting schedule to enjoy some of the finest local delicacies and also the best Greek food you can find in Munich.

IMG_1092.JPG

German sausages are the national pride Germany where they serve not only the best and finest sausages all across Germany. But, every restaurant has a strong guard of their beloved recipes from certain areas. I love all sausages in Germany but typically my favorite among all would definitely be the classic "Bratwurst", "Weisswurst" and "Nürnberger Rostbratwurst".

All of the sausages have their own unique characteristics and are distinctive from one another and it's extremely addicting for anyone who has tried it. If there's one reason for me to go back to Germany, this will be it. I just can't get enough of them!

IMG_0980.JPG

If you haven't already know that besides sausages, German cuisines are the best of it's finest. "Sauerbraten" which is a German pot roast that can be prepared with a variety of meats has been always been a traditional and favorite dish for many.

Also, if you're a fan of fatty meats, "Schweinshaxe" is perfect to satisfy your cravings. This German roasted pork knuckle will definitely create a flvour concussion in your mouth, giving you the best flavor pleasure.

As a conclusion, Munich is definitely a city where you will find yourself great wonders! If you're a foodie, you'll never be disappointed here and the only regret that ones have is probably haven't had enough stomach capacity to fill in each and every dishes you find in Munich.
