Sometimes It's About the Journey

It's not about the destination, its about the journey

-Unknown

A proverb that I disagree with eight times out of ten, but does work very well for road trips and this part of our little adventure yesterday.

As we drove to Pori, and were just driving around to see if anything sparks our interested, we saw this wooden structure peaking between and above treetops in the distance and decided to check it out. There was little parking lot near it, with an information sign saying it's a bird watching tower, and some general information about the birds in the area. What the info-plaque lacked of, was to show how to get to the tower itself.

We could see it but it was behinds, trees, bushes, high grass and trenches. It took us a while to walk around and we finally found a little trail that seemed to be leading towards the tower. We were chuckling when we noticed it wasn't a straight trail, but it was winding up towards the tower slowly. I always feel like a little kid in a secret garden when I'm walking on a little path, between bushes and grass as tall as me.

The actual tower and the views from it were nothing more than mediocre, but I really enjoy the walk to and from it. So this time it's 6-0 to the journey, against the final destination.

EDIT: My sister just send me these!

I love finding little hidden things like this. It's so rare but once in a while there's a little path, that takes a little digging to get through, that has a treasure at the end. It's nice to see something neat that the public doesn't usually take the time to find.
P.S. - Love the wind mills! Seeing that would be worth the trek for me!

This one didn't have a treasure but the trail itself was that for me. I have a bit of an obsession for little trails in the woods.

Well if you like the windmills, then you are in for a treat later today or tomorrow, because I went close to them. Or not actually those same ones, but the ones on an island we spend the rest of the day!

Trails are so attractive! Especially when one starts right next to a big road in Helsinki! I can walk past a whole wall of candy in a shop without even glancing, but gimme a trail and I'm going to look like the guy from the meme.

ACCURATE!

When are you getting your sister on Steemit? :D

I've tried, but she is not interested!

But how's that possible? If I had a sibling who was living off Internet money, I'd be damn interested about it!

I think she doesn't care for the socialising and networking part of this all, and she is busy being a real artist. She does blog sometimes, and I could ask her if she doesn't mind that I share a link to her blog on here.

She said it was alright to share: https://vision-fever.blogspot.com

Uuu... thanks for the link!

Edit. Impressive stuff and photos I gotta say!

Whether nude or fully clothed or just sharing lil slices of your world I always love your posts 💐

Aww thank you darling, you are so sweet! 😘

Thanks, @eveuncovered, I really like your road trip report and the spontaneous journey towards the somewhat "unknown" destination. Nice1 📸🏞.

I love those nature trails... but I'm suspicious on that one: being a bird fan, I would probably spend most of the time looking for birds and wildlife and would take twice the time to get to the tower :)

Aww, the blue sky with the clouds in all shades of white and grey make such a beautiful background for the fresh green grass 😊 Nature just makes me happy every time I take a look around!

Great shots, Eve 😉
